hi guys, i've been out from the photography game for many years and think of stepping back in. Previously the last camera i bought was a D7000, Which was at least 13 years ago!
Main subjects of photography would be products photography (watches) as recently i've gain a huge following on my side project, im thinking of getting a decent camera for this job. video wise would just be doing 1080p. no fast moving action or etc.
I'm now in a dilemma of getting either the Sony A6000 or A6300. i hope you can provide your input into making my decision. if you have other to recommend please do as well!

first of all, welcome back!

please state your budget.

you need to get a good prime lens to pair with the camera.
the body is just part of the equation and kit lenses are mostly sub-par.

Fully agree! Ideally body wise below 2,000 is the budget.

Wouldn’t mine forking out for a good lens If u have any to introduce? Usually i would need a lens with a close focus distance (not sure the correct term).
My current camera other than the d7000 is actually a m240 with a summicron 50 f2 which I had for 7 years. But yea it’s focus dist is close to 70cm which isn’t very ideal to do product photography

we call that close focus macro.

well sony a6000 is dated but future proofing is good as the e-mount is still going strong.
maybe can consider fuji too.

but honestly im biased towards sony here laugh.gif

for your budget the a6300 is over your budget.
your choices would be sony a6000, fuji x-a5 or the canon m3.

you can head over to sony or canon threads but everyone is mostly FF now.
fuji thread is still fully aps-c.

yes the fujifilm is also another considering i have but not so familiar with the platform etc.

maybe tambah around 500+ i see 2.5k body only a6300 laying around... but is it worth the 500+ upgrade? heard the 4k shooting gets overheat easily too.

lens wise..

I see~ well, no harm reaching out to him via email and get him to recommend you stuff since both of you share the same interest.

Our recommendations here are pretty much for generic stuff~

That's a good buy. I have seen some A6k bodies selling at 1.6/1.7k previously.
