Combined power output if you floor the pedal might be more on the Hybrid (for initial acceleration), but honestly you would not be looking at any Cross model if flooring the pedal was your goal. For more regular everyday driving situations, the 1.8 G/V models will give you more power with less pedal travel. The most noticeable will be uphill, at the expense of poorer fuel economy obviously. For example, overtaking a bus/lorry going up a hill – the pure petrol model will overtake easily with pedal press 1/2 way down, while the hybrid might need 2/3.
Won't this make the hybrid less fun to drive if one has to floor the accelerator more compared to non hybrid versions? Back then, people actually installed stuff like Sprint Booster in their cars just to reduce the accelerator movement, giving the feeling of having a more powerful engine.
