May I ask which showroom. I just contacted a sales advisor after reading your message and he told me otherwise.

Hybrid - RM6k discount
V - RM3k discount
GR Sport - nothing
*
Toyota showroom at Pandan Indah.

We were looking at Hybrid version, maybe I heard wrongly what the sales advisor told me. She said all models have discount (she didn't say about GR Sport no discount though), when we ask about the Hybrid model she said RM6k, your sales advisor could be correct.

With the discount of 3k & 6k for V specs and hybrid, I guess not much different liao. Anyone have comparing Corolla Cross with HRV? I'm interested, I know HRV is on different segment but the look of HRV much better than Corolla Cross.
*
Yeah, coming from a H owner, it's really on a different level in terms of maintenance. Friend's previous gen HRV after a few years - nget2 sound, BRV worse. Now worried about CVT giving up the ghost, fast2 bail. H Malaysia is better in their use of more cutting edge tech & after sales service.

Personal opinion - Cross is virtually an updated 3rd Gen Prius. Parts availability and very strong DIY community will ensure the longevity of this model long after warranty is over.

Took the plunge, ordered the Hybrid. The sales representative said RHB got offer special loan for green vehicles. But when I check RHB website, the green vehicle loan use BR+x% (like regular housing loan) instead of the usual car loan percentage.

Anyone know how this works and if any other banks offer special rates for green vehicles?

Yeah, RHB only do variable rate not like other bank have fix and variable, do check out affin and hong leong too.

Last time Ambank is #1 for car loan.

Now car salesperson try to steer us to BSN at 2.45% and say other banks concerned that I have high commitment - say my housing loan less than 3 yrs cannot be considered investment (WTH? who say investment? It's for own stay) and to proceed first for further processing so that the loan will show up in CCRIS and other banks will then red eye and will allow (again, sure or not?)

6 yrs ago when take BRV income not so high, now income higher already, then when take housing loan the bank have no issues giving housing loan with the car loan at our lower income. Now with higher income, the salesperson say banks got concern, hmmmmm.

Edit : If RHB car loan is similar to housing loan, I prefer that because the interest charged at any one time is based on your principal, not calculated flat across the whole loan tenure.

Checked RHB, went to one branch say no do car loan, gip me phone number to call. Called, selected option to enquire about loans.

The guy answering macam not so sure, have to put me on hold for a few times to go and check the loan product details. Last-last when I enquired what's the instalment amount for a 9 yr loan at BR(3%)+0.35% and the loan amount I stated - he put me on hold again, then cut me off - I was wondering why RHB asking survey when I have not completed my enquiry with them? So I gave the worst possible score for all questions asked, and true enough at end of survey, call ended.

Anyway did my own calculations, floating rate of 3.35% the instalment is just about Rm1288 vs RM1360 (normal car loan). Considering that RHB is floating rate - there is a risk of interest rate changing - not worth the risk for about RM70+ difference.

This Green Vehicle loan is just marketing speak, the instalment not significantly lower, and with floating rate, carries more risk than regular car loans for just 5% cheaper instalment amount.

No Affin bank around, will check HL out.

Edit : Called HL - no layan say you go branch and check - nanti I go branch then that branch say here no do car loan, how? Kek. I understand why HL might say this, the final interest rate charged depends on my credit scoring, but at least gip la ballpark figure - don't want to gip.

Edit 2 : As expected, HL branch no sales person, called back HLB cust service line then immediate say will arrange call back. Finally, someone called back, say their rate is 2.6x%, best can go down to 2.5x%, he say most sales functions are centrallised already.

Which area are you from? I'm from Sarawak, perhaps I could give you my banker and get them sort it out for you. If you dealing with dealer their SA should have all the banker contacts and able to share with you directly instead of you looking around like headless chicken icon_idea.gif  I'm a SA myself and banker I use are usually very effective and reliable, those unresponsive type we usually blacklist them immediately after we know their pattern.
*
I'm at KL. I'm just double checking our SA's recommendation to go for Bank Rakyat's car loan at 2.45% when he previously said RHB got this green car loan at special rate, and some other smaller banks, not the typical Ambank, Maybank, PBB or HLB.

At first he said got ready stock 1st week Oct can get as long as loans are approved, now say no stock (so there's a red flag already) we went to another branch before we went to him and the lady SA say can get some time mid-Oct but this SA say can get early Oct, now say end-Oct, and he recommended us to quickly sell off our old car because cannot get that good price after this - all the advice turn out to be not so good, now we're one car less, with no visibility when we're going to get our Cross

Supposed to sign the loan agreement today, I said no, because he said car can get 1st week Oct as long as loan done. Car no plate also have already. Willing to forfeit the RM500 deposit if I can find better car loan rate at another bank.

It's not I don't trust SAs in general, it's just that the few things he said like not consistent, so now I gotta double check what he said.

Quite sien, this seems like the right side mirror mounter camera that's problematic - if wiring not done properly and then the auto folding/unfolding of side mirror when locking and unlocking the car could potentially make the camera wires break or loose kua.

Vietnam seems like just launched CC 2024 - which still uses foot parking brake?  bruce.gif

This still looks like current CC, slightly change the design of the bumper? Even the grille looks similar to the Malaysian version. Don't think this is the new version of the CC we're discussing few posts above.

With the small battery, there will be lots of battery depletion and charging if going for lots of City drive. I heard same with City and HRV. Only Civic and CRV using 2.0 engine makes little noise when charging but the price increase over non-hybrid are really wide over these cars.
*
TCC hybrid really meant for city driving la, it's not aerodynamic like Prius, so when travelling at highway, the fuel consumption will be higher than a 3rd gen Prius.

After driving the TCC, I wonder how Prius can get 1000+km per tank, my TCC 600+km mix city/highway drive already consider good liao.

Highway cruising macam my BRV more efficient than TCC Hybrid. Maybe I need to learn how to drive TCCH. I normally use the pulse and glide (especially going downslope) on highways.

Which Prius you comparing to? Your TCCH fuel tank is Myvi sized. 36L only. The Prius C that was sold here also had the same size fuel tank and its range was also 600-700km. Don’t go and compare to the full size Prius with a 47L tank.

Yeah, you're correct. Thx for the correction.

Prius is more aerodynamic shaped and different car segment, meanwhile TCCH is almost box shaped not aerodynamically shaped.

And I think TCCH weighs more than Prius.
*
Slightly more only 1345kg vs 1405kg.

But like someone corrected me, it's more to do with the fuel tank capacity. Aerodynamics (Coefficient of Drag) & weight play a role, but not as significant as the fuel tank capacity.

I see, that may partly explain on the high prices of vehicles over there in Singapore. It is unfortunate that the Asean spec model is a 1.8 litre instead of 2.0 original from Japan. I wonder the reasons on the downsize of the engine capacity for the Asean spec, perhaps to cut down cost or something else.
*
The cars from country of origin actually not pricey, the high total cost of ownership in Sgp is due to COE, no?

Also, if want Japan spec, wait for refurbished JDM TCC?

Need /K advise,

Suddenly this tyre alert came out - am outstation and the nearby petrol station don't have a working tyre pump for me to check tyre pressure.

Used the emergency kit to check the tyre pressure of all tyres, they're at 32psi. The recommended pressure is 33psi, so I don't think 32 is an issue.

Left it overnight, the alert is still there, but tyres look sufficiently inflated.

Anything else could have caused the tyre signal to come out in a TCC?

Or this could've been caused by me being at a higher elevation and therefore the colder temps caused the alert to come on?

I worked on these kinda sensor. Usually the error is not much from the sensor itself but it's on the Toyota system only allowing a smaller reduction margin for such warning to pop up I guess. I guess we still need to look at the tire physically time to time.

QUOTE(spreeeee @ Mar 24 2024, 10:44 AM)
u can reset it so it will read and accept 32 without showing the icon
*
QUOTE(eternity4av @ Mar 24 2024, 10:34 AM)
it does happen from time to time, i experienced twice, once i've validated with petrol station typre pump, its just lower by 1 kPa, the 2nd time, it was a false alarm, i think you'll be just fine till you find the next petrol station.
*
I took the car for a short drive and looked physically at the tyres, nothing out of the ordinary, so I guess it's likely to be a false alarm. Will drive conservatively until can find a working tyre pump, lol

Thx for the advise guys.

No need to reset wo, halfway down from the hillside, the alert went off, so it appears to be caused by the cold weather, which is strange because this is not the first time we're been there and I wouldn't say it's even that cool versus the previous trips.

May be just get a tire pump and check periodically at home

Oh... there's a tyre pump in the emergency kit provided by Toyota

Dear all CC owners, anyone encounter this squeeky sound at the back when drive on uneven road after drive it for 20k km?
Thanks.
*
Not that I remember, mine CC Hybrid has a metal sound (like gear slippage, I know it's weird since supposed to be CVT) when I press the brake (regen happening) and hit a pothole - there is this particular pot hole (it's not a hole, it's more like a strip across the road that I cannot avoid, and it's on a road I need to travel almost daily) that will cause this sound near my place - I can replicate it half the time.
