The newer gen doesn’t see the world boomers do. What is trivial to us or then, is of utmost importance to them and now. Peer pressure, academics, etc.

Back then, if one can’t provide for one’s family, one goes sayonara. Nowadays, if one can’t flaunt your A+ in TikTok IG, one does the same. Looks so trivial but when you see how socmed works, how others flaunt their rewards from parents, whatever for their academic success, you kinda understand how they view the world. And this is only 1 example.

One day i helping the service dept due to one of mechanic on leave, one chinese female maybe quite high kelas maybe m20 or t20, coming in with her daughter and scooter for service (yes, i am chinese and they too)
Outfrom nowhere, she say the example to her kid that i make above... Of course i cant argue with her due to the job.
Maybe we not high kelas as her, but these so called low level personal servicing your stupid scooter; maybe driving truck collecting your trash or foodwaste....
