My sister would like to have a budget garden wedding, below RM30k, (about 50 guests only) her idea is to have something casual and light, maybe rent a villa with a backyard for the ceremony then order catering for our guests.

Not sure if any of you have similar experience? Would be good if you can recommend the below:

- wedding venue
- catering
- wedding planner
- any other details that we need to take note on
- most importantly, the price. Hehe

These sounds simple and straightforward most of the time. But when you look in to details there is actually a lot more can be consider like those value added service which might help entertain your guest, you may need to consider if you need to have any agenda what time do what or you just plan to have guest check in touch n go.

Some other notable entertaining service like photo booth, live band, sound system, mc, cotton candy/pop corn booth can be considered otherwise there's nothing to entertain the guest + those quiet awkward environment.

Also simple decoration can easily cost you few thousands as well, + if you want fresh flower that'll add up even more.

Me and my Fiance wanted something different but in the end we decided on having our Wedding Venue at a Hotel which will be much more comfortable for our guest and less hassle for us

Don't be shy to email everyone that does it, but do know what you want and which date you have in mind
Because once all the email are sent, usually prices and venue will be on hold for 2 weeks tops.

Once you get the price.. Then short list whichever you like from there you can start your negotiation, that's the fun part


As an example here is one of the 5 star hotels that gave me discounts in KL, can't name them as these are all private deals

Oh yeah private villa please also take in to consideration the parking space available, you don't want your guest to get in to trouble at wedding day for parking at the wrong place.

3 horrible factors nobody will tell you about garden weddings. NYAMUK, RAIN and HEAT!

Dont waste time on this silly garden wedding. It sounds nice but it is really VERY irritating for your guests to keep on being bitten by Nyamuk all night long

Dude, seriously...forget about garden wedding. You and your wife wont enjoy it either in your wedding.

wedding garden is so risky.

if do it in the daytime, everyone will be sweating

if do it in the night time or evening, mosquitoes will come.

or worst if it rains

garden wedding sounds nice, but not practical
