Anyone have experienced the high end car mat (Trapo, Enzo, Dodomat) before? Justify for their high price in term of quality, reliability, longevity? Out of the 3 brands which one is better?

I using Trapo Hex.

My opinion is since mostly flat rate across the board for big car to small car (YES, a mat for Kancil costs the SAME as for a CX9!)

if for large car, worth it. If for small car (B segment and below), not worth at all.

Overpriced mats which makes your car interior floors looks closer to a taxi. After a while, the mats goes out of shape and no longer flat when you remove it (for washing). If you have a nice car, go for carpet mats or manufacturer brand official mats.

somewhat true, my family's old benz carpet still in pristine condition after about 20 years, whereas the Trapo crap went all out of shape and can be dangerous if it stuck to your accelerator or brake pedals.

I had the 3M mats from Ace Hardware bought for about rm150 for front and slightly less for rear for my Swift.

They are very long lasting (7 years now) except the driver's side which had a hole in the center eventually (5 years).

So I got a Trapo just for the driver's side. No complaints

Err no. Better quality mat can last long and also easier to clean. You get what you pay for. If you want cheap, it's fine to use also. If you don't mind changing more frequently and harder to maintain. I am using cheap mat and I am fine with them looking less "expensive" and cleaning it more often.

I don't think they are considered high end car mat? Trapo and Dodomat are relatively cheap, only 200+, most good rubber mat without plastic smell like Ecomat are around this price also. Even more expensive Trapo Hex also 400+ only.

High end mat is like 3D Mat.

They are easy to take care. The sands mostly trapped, it is very effective. I don't really wash, simply pour the sands away.
It is easier to clean than the curly hair rubber mat that little stones tends to get stuck.
The drawback is the dirts will be exposed, whereas curly hair rubber mat hide the dirts even if you don't clean them for a year.

Carpet mat is very hard to take care in Malaysia especially rainy days.

car mat like enzo, dodo, trapo are way more easier to clean and maintain. 3D mat is crazily expensive, im not sure what more can it offer more than the mid range one.

As for those cheap maggi mee mat, no thanks, good at trapping dirt and stuff, hard to clean, hard to dry, good for bacterials to grow and thrive.

As long as the car mat can be fixed into position, and not move around and no risk of blocking or interfering with brake and gas paddle it's ok.

Lol... sorry bro. I just thinking got people use 3D Mat or tailored made with price 1.5x - 2x of Trapo/Dodomat, those are most premium. So I conclude Trapo is middle class notworthy.gif

Trapo is shit, glorified overpriced rubber mat.

Easy cleaning yes, but before you clean, all the dirt and sand is kinda in your face screaming for you to clean them, making your interior look cheap or overused/taxi interior.

It should be thickness and whether u like it rather than price. Unker got cheap ultra thick mats which should aid the soundproofing properties on the flooring. It was cheap for the thickness, a bit of DIY cutting to fit and sui sui ngam ngam. that RM30 well worth it cause the mats still rock solid todei 6 yrs later.

don't know.

i use the ori car mats, each car use for 5-7 years kao kao, and sell it off.

Never EVER has the car value dropped due to "eh boss, car mat rosak, car must be cheaper price la".

Even better nowadays with mytukar/carsome, they don't even see these small stuff before offering you a price for you to compare with your other individual/shop offer.

Do you guys also put a protective coating/plastic on top of your selipar/shoe where your leg rests? ya'know to make it "easier" to clean or trap your precious dirt? lol

Hah if only it was rubber.

It's just foam, similar to product packing foam, albeit higher in density.

The markup for trapo mat is so insane, the cost for them to do the side-panel stitching with some fabric+threads cost more then the mat's material itself.

That’s my style, except in my case the expensive floor mat is the ori one that came with the car. I just buy the thinnest cheapo mat I can find to put on top of the ori mat.

i always wonder how can someone use the original car mat come with the car. I meant if it was a rainy day, The car mat will be very messy, was it not?

especially muddy area, do you just take the original mat and wash it like you do to your house carpet?

I’m using the black rubber mats from Ace Hardware. Lasts quite long and easy to wash. Only downside is the driver side mat will have a hole after a couple years usage due to show heel cucuk daily.

Has been using some China 3D mat. The price is 200+ for a small car. Not bad actually. Quite like that it wrap up to the side of the car wall. Just hard to take out for cleaning.

bro.. all these expensive car mats.. worth it meh?
Doesn't matter the brand - trapo, dodo, enzo.. what 3d Mat..
in the end, its just a floor mat. You'll step on it. I'm using the curly rubber mat kind that tinting shops provide for free. Its ady 8 years and counting..
only driver side there got a hole cuz of the constant rubbing when changing pedals.. otherwise its all good. Sand and stones get trapped. Stepped on muddy water then onto the mat still nice.. just take it out and rinse with water can dy..
buy so expensive for what?

not like you feel the difference with your shoes on.

besides, most important question is..
do you wash the mats yourself first? or do you send to car wash (those cheapo ones - bangledesh workers)
if you send to those cheapo carwash, then buy those expensive mats for what? They simply smack it onto the floor or against each other then throw it back into the car..
so... hmm.gif

My opinion is rather the mat must be efficient in traping dirt/stone etc because all this gets sucked back into your aircond, particularly the front passanger mats.

in terms of looks - original carpet is always the preferred choice but does not trap dirt well, if you clean it very often then no problem
if lazy then maybe dodo because it can trap dirt below (2nd layer), or the maggi mee type rubber.
trapo concept is good, but need to maintain regularly too otherwise defeat the purpose

most important - need to be hard working to clean the mats.

My experience, no need buy top end model. I bought Trapo & some cheap mat from accessories shop and i always buy the lowest option. Since it is mat and will get dirty dont overspend on it.

suppose very important criteria other than easy to clean and long lasting is no rubbery smell

was kinda keen on the katamatto due to the price but read some reviews complaining about the smell

anyone can share recent review of say trapco, enzo and katamatto

Take a look at 3D mats. It's different from the usual mats. The sides are all raised so any spills won't get to the bottom layer. But very2 expensive lol

Got those cheapo 5d mat. But probably can’t last long if compared to the expensive one.

I think important is the mat can trap dirt and easy to clean. Most original car mat can’t trap the dirt and not spill proof.

Been using 3 sets from Trapo for 3 cars so far, I would say it is worth my money overall.

Modern cars have better fit, older car get less coverage because of the way older car floors are designed

personally used TRAPO and DODO mat in different cars
To me they both have they good and bad

First I bought TRAPO , I found that the fit is not really good
Many hit and misses at some corner areas
But the mat is sturdy after 3 years

Then for another car I used DODOMAT . The fit is much better , it’s dual later so to clean just open up the mat everything come out . I actually love it . HOWEVER , DODOMAT has one big problem :
They try to be innovative by making the heel pad for the driver side , changeable . Means the pad doesn’t come with the mat , it’s a piece of very flimsy cheap rubber pad that you attach to the mat using 6 provided tabs.
After I used it for 1 year, 6 tabs become 4 tabs. Soon it will go all missing then your heel pad will detach . And the tabs are not available for purchase , at least I cannot find online , maybe can ask them to provide extra
But still that heel pad feel very very flimsy . The feeling is like you drop a piece of brochure on your carpet and then step on it

Because of that I want to get the 3rd one from TRAPO .
TRAPO heel pad is fixed , built together with the mat , that’s why it’s just single layer not like DODO dual layer
The only problem about TRAPO is : the usual CLASSIC mark III mat comes only with tiny tiny little Velcro at each corners to secure it on the floor . If you want the entire mat is the Velcro material you got to top up to the FIX version which bump the price from RM 250 to RM 450 immediately
A stupid price of Velcro cost extra RM 200

For DODOMAT , they only have one version and that already comes with the under neath filly covered with Velcro
So in this regards , DODOMAT is RM 200+ vs TRAPO FIX RM 400++

For a car mat the important thing to me is how secure it is to the floor
The last thing you want is the mat sliding around and stuck to your accelerator / brake and caused accident
It has happened before and it will happen to anyone of us

So far I haven’t seen anyone complaining about the security of TRAPO MAT
I cannot go back to DODOMAT flimsy heel pad
So I will go back to TRAPO

And by the way , I changed at least 3 times cheap carpet mat , I feel that it’s worth it to get a proper custom fit mat . Makes your old car feel new again . And I don’t feel that it looks like taxi at all , just don’t get funny colours . I choose black on black all the time

Hope it helps

Using Enzo, it looks like it will last for the life of my car. Super easy cleaning, normally terbalikkan and do a fling, all come out already. No need to whack.

Few drawbacks though:
- Mats are heavy, so it requires more effort compared to stock
- Maybe it's the way I drive, kinda spoilt one of my soft rubber shoes heel
- Driver's mat is weird because of the foot rest, always find it awkward to take out, dust and place it back

I uses Trapo. What they advertise is true. Easy to clean, etc. But what they don't tell you is that it is a hard and light piece of mat that will slide everwhere. It will not stay where is it supposed to be. I have to constantly adjust the mat position and it is bloody annoying.

I use Trapo but it wont move after put. Due to valcro below the mat. Easy to clean but when open it, due to Valcro, it make all the sands etc pull out from the mat

just got my katamotto mat

looks quite good and value for money

looks easy to clean and so far does not appear to move around when driving

but bad thing about the rear mat is that it comes in single piece just like the original mat

cumbersome to take out especially if you have another car park next to you

better if it came in 3 pieces but that would increase the stitching cost

I bought Kamatto mat last 10.10 for boot and 11.11 for all car. Best bang for money. Rm100+ for the car is best bang for money. Reluctant to spend almost rm300 for a car mat

Using Trapo that has the locking mechanism since my car has it. So no sliding around.

Good: Traps dirt and liquid very well.
Bad: You WILL see the trapped dirt and liquid very well.

But at least it's very easy to clean though. Shake and put back can already, no need to whack also. I clean my car every weekend so it's relatively easy to maintain for me.

In my previous car was using those thick ones that has wire "mesh/wool" type. Those are a pain to clean and I've replaced 3 or 4 because my heel would grind a hole in the meshing and it just falls apart.

For me nope, early period for 3 days maybe have some "glue" smell. Believe cz trapped inside box for many days. After that normal no smell. My other car with Trapo while another with Kamatto, i think Kamatto is easier to bring out for cleaning cz lighter.

the front and boot mats are very good. overall it's value for money and fits well

the small issue is with the rear mats cos it comes as a single piece so it's heavy and cumbersome to take out and clean

you can't park the car in the car porch and have your second car too close as you need to open the door very wide to take out.

but to be fair, the original carpets for the rear seat also came as singe piece but would have been nice if the mats for the rear was in 3 pieces

I'm using Trapo hex ultimate on both my cars and they dont slip around due to the texture of the underside.
Maybe you could send your mats back to them for re-work.

Got the Kamatto mat for my vios 2023. Fits great except for the driver's side. The part under the accelerator pedal hinders the pedal at full throttle... and does not come with the 2 cut out for the hook for on driver's side.

Other than that, quality mats with no smell. Works great like Enzo but lighter in weight which is good.

The rear on the Vios 2023 kamatto mat is 3 piece, not one piece as mentioned by another forumer before. I guess they follow the original car mat design to decide if the model comes in 1 or 3 pieces.

Happy to use it considering the price i paid. B4 this the car use coil mat, after extensive use, it make a hole at the driver feet area, plus smelly after raining. This Kamatto no issues. My other car with Trapo, almost similar function for dirt trap etc but more expansive price

i using 3D mat glory...
bought during shopee live had rm100 shop live voucher.. and somehow it stacked with the cashback voucher.. so got almost rm200 discount after plus back shipping.

good thing about this carpet mat is it form fit so wont move around.
dirt and sand on the carpet.. will be clearly visible on the surface. but it doesnt move around. when dry.. i just use handheld xiaomi vacuum it up. no stains whatsoever.

instead of rubber mesh/curly mat all trapped inside cannot see.. need bring out shake shake, slam against wall... then spray water jet

Wow nice to see some review of 3D mat glory. This is the car mat I want to buy but unfortunately not available for my car.
I just bought kamatto because of the lower price. Wanted to buy dodomat at first but I didn’t want to spend more money in case 3dmats come out with my model in 6-12 months time.
Luckily I didn’t after reading the above review about the heel pad.

Kamatto ok, fit also ok. The stitching around the mat seems senget sikit on some of the mats but acceptable. No smell. Didnt slide around and I lay them on top of my original mats. Feels like hard plastic material but not that hard.

I wish can find TPE bucket style mats from China but can’t find RHD version.

Never bought any named brand mat. Dodomat, Trapo, etc.

Used coil mat for years. Got bad experience with it. One day i was cleaning my car after rainy season so naturally the mats was damp than usual. So i took out the mats and put it under the harsh sun light for half and hour like that. When i went back, surprisingly i saw few mini cockroaches came out from the mat crevices. Fucking hell i straight threw it away, went to nearest Mr DIY and bought myself cheapo cut-yourself-to-fit universal rubber mat for less than RM50. Never look back since then. Practical and durable AF.

Waiting for new car right now. Honestly not really keen on spending few hundreds ringgit on premium mat although it looks really good. Doesn't offer anything new. Better spend it on dashcam or whatever.

Depending on your budget & requirement.

For me if for cheap local cars, i will just go for normal cheap mat from Kamatto or Trapo Eco series.
Higher range like SUV/Premium sedan rides - Enzo or Trapo Classic series

Trapo got 1 advantage is driver side got extra padding for shoes/feet to lay on, compare to Kamatto & Enzo just mat only.

Trapo mats are designed to fit into your car without existing floor mat. They come with velcro strips at the corners. Over time as u remove to clean and reinstall, you will find your car floor carpet to have Carpet hairs coming out as the Velcro will pull it.
The trapo hex is better as it comes with many mini Velcro throughout the bottom part which are less harsh on the car floor.
I had a Mazda 3 and the trapo mats also have those nubs that fit into your existing car floor nubs to hold it in place. They design it to correctly fit your car.

Saw dodo and trapo but didn't like dual layers. Prefer simple, one layer so I don't have to clean twice and maintain to many things. Went for 3D Mats Kagu series. In terms of texture, it's like a piece of cardboard, doesnt change shape. IT's a perfect fit to your car. I will put the Kagu Mat on top of my original mat provided by manufacturer and still fits perfectly and doesn't move. It's waterproof, so during rainy days, the water doesn't sip through. Also, fairly easy to clean especially dust and dirt. Quite durable, the mat still looking brand new after 2 years.

I'm also curious on how the expensive car mat fares nowadays.
I got my Trapo mat when they first started in the early days. There is no velco below but some kind of spiked netting to grab on the carpet below. Mat still moves a bit but better than nothing.

But one thing I'm not sure if it still happens for the recent version, my car always parked under the hot sun so the interior can get very hot until some of my plastic cards can get deformed. So, since the top of the mat is made out of foam like material, it kinda shrinks a bit under the heat after a long time. The bottom layer which is the net like plastic material which doesn't shrink easily. This ended up the whole mat curved upwards a bit like a u-shape. Still works fine but doesn't look very pretty at the edge of the mat though.

Been using 3 sets from Trapo for 3 cars so far, I would say it is worth my money overall.

Modern cars have better fit, older car get less coverage because of the way older car floors are designed

I can't recall which series I have bought but all I am saying is 2 purchases I am happy customer, one time only satisfactory because it was previous gen for an older car, and the fitting for 1st gen for older car not so perfect because of the smaller floor area for older car whereby the edges are always "uncoverable" because of the way they protrude

Had to agree on this.. its quite expensive but you get what you pay.. easy to clean, durable, lightweight, and most of all its follow the floor curve..

if u look around shopee, there are plenty more cheap and similar-looking mats such as Trapo/Dodo etc. It works well as well as a floor mat. the important is, once it is dirty, blast it with water cz it is easy to clean vs coil mats.

Mind to share which car model is your kamatto mat for? I bought for my vios 2024 and the driver side has very bad cutting, the accelerator pedal is hindered by the mat at full throttle...

But I've also tested ENZO and Trapo classic, the ENZO is good but heavy and pricey; while the trapo classic velcro doesn't keep the mat in place no matter what...

I would rate ENZO > Kamatto > Trapo classic in terms of design. May try ENZO care which is their budget model for my next car.

Don’t you guys get car mats from your sales person when you buy your car? I’ve gotten both extra sets of the velour mats as well as original branded rubber ones (I’m old fashioned, I actually prefer rubber mats for ease of cleaning) from the salesperson with my purchases.

These are just re-branded car mats that had been on the market for the past 10 years. I seen them from alibaba long before trapo/carmato even existed.
They are merely OEM rebranded items being sold at higher pricing.

Anyway, I always stick to the original factory carpets from car makers. They can last more than 10 years unless you mistreat it on purpose.
I find factory carpet-type of car mats are the most comfortable.

I am using Kamatto, Trapo. No difference. Kamatto is good enough and much cheaper.
