I want to know is it true that the set claimed using warranty(sealed box) will be less value to sell compared to the original second hang unit?

Original refurbished unit value is higher

Is there any reason for this? Like the warranty claimed unit is refurbished unit? The Machines's staff told me that it will be new sealed unit.

When you goto claim warranty, apple is going to swap your unit with another refurbished unit, which is made like *new*

Unless they have no refurbished unit, they will give you a new one. But you won't know

If Sealed in white box then it's refurb.

Not necessarily. Apple doesn’t you to sell the sealed box as new for profit if they give you a replacement with the original box.

because if the resale value is so low then I might not consider to claim the warranty at the first place. instead sell the phone as second hand original set. lol

Best to claim warranty as it provides additional 3 months warranty on the refurbished device, also with better battery of 100% health.

should be higher but most people don't really care/realize it. so much so that it really doesn't matter

last time had to send my IP8 plus for warranty due to the GPS issue. there was a slight dent already on the corner. the basically gave a new one. however the serial number is different in a way that it can be identified at "refurbished".
