80s is cool.

i think early 90s music still good, rite? such as A-ha-take on me, karyn White-Superwoman, Wilson Philips, Tommy page, Debbie Gibson, Phil Collins(Many classic from him), Babyface, Jason Donovan, Bobby Brown, Prince, Richard Marx, Vanilla ice, (not so like Mc Hammer)

Btw, anyone realized since when pop music becomes "boring"?

I feel Pop was dead after Vanilla ice & Mc Hammer generation was ended.

pop music was dead the moment the music industry took Playboy girls to become singers.

It's really hard to differentiate music videos with soft porn nowadays.

Rick Price - Heaven Knows

The Bangles - Eternal Flame

Richard Marx - aiz cant remember the song title

Michael Learns to Rock - Sleeping Child

Btw, early 90's, 60's & 70's r enjoyable as well : The Beatles, Bee Gess, ABBA, Savage Garden

If u guys tired of chinese song nowadays, try Alexander 王力宏.

To me, hes a great-talented asset of chinese music industry nowadays. Well, he can play acoustic guitar,

electric bass, drum, piano, organ ... I mean play excellently. He composes, writes lyircs & sings as well. He's

definitely The Dragon of Chinese Music Industry Nowadays, at least to me.

Listen to Forever Love & 一首简单的歌 as a tryout, u definitely wont regret it.

True, I'm sick and tired of them. Most youth nowadays listen to these crap, I'm not one of them. Their music video looks like porn and they sounded and looked like retards looking for fame doh.gif the now "famous" Sean Kingston, sound like retards, I can't stand his voice, how come he become famous blink.gif ?

I love listening to old songs like Carpenters and Bee Gees. Even my modern music isn't like youth nowadays, I listen to Dido, Marit Larsen, Michael Buble' and M2M smile.gif tongue.gif I'm into more vocal and lyrics instead of loud music

If you can remember, UK has Bros. Doc Martens, torn jeans. So cool!
Stock Aitken Waterman churns out hits for Jason Donovan, Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Brother Beyond, Sinitta, Big Fun etc...

yea.....i got real excited when i hear a familiar tune in GTA Vice City playing on d radio. but then it got twisted n JoJo's voice came out. n it was like..... duh. i never thought of the original song the same way again.....
*
Yeah I agree with you, I love Toto -Africa. But stupid Jojo ruin the song, God I hate her for just that. Please for God sake don't make a stupid remix of the beautiful oldies song.

The only person who song the old song the right way is Michael Buble. Other than that just a retard who just want popularity

My favo dance track is "Drive-On" & the most sweetest love song- "When will i see you again never die" in my heart until today~!. (Much more sentimental than the original one..hee)

Starship - Sara, We Built This City and my favourite Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now

Someone mentioned Duran Duran, here's my favourite The Reflex, Wild Boys, A View to a Kill (one of the best bond movie song), Planet Earth, Girls on Film, Hungry like a Wolf, etc

Another one of my favourite bond movie song For Your Eyes Only by Sheena Easton

One of the best music video in the 80's was Take on Me by Ah Ha

Wake me up before you Go Go by Wham (I know its a bit gay but I like the song)

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, She-Bop (fun song), The Goonies 'R' Good Enough (from a good but forgotten Spielberg kid movie), True Colors and Time after Time by Cyndi Lauper

Everybody Wants to Rule The World and Shout from Tears for Fear

Wild, Wild West by Escape Club

Rock Me Amadeus by Falco (stupid song but very catchy)

Turn Back the Clock by Johnny Hates Jazz

Through the Barricades and True by Spandau Ballet

La Luna and Circle in the Sand by Belinda Carlisle

Forever Young by Alphaville (one hit wonder)

Addicted To Love by Robert Palmer (who can forget the MTV)

Nothing Compares to You by Sinead O Connor

I Think We're Alone Now by Tiffany

Anything from Lionel Ritchie and Madonna in the 80's were good

Not really 80's but early 90's Roxette Listen to Your Heart, Dangerous, The Look, etc

Aiyoh the list are too long. Anyone remember the show Top of the Pops?

I can never bored with Stock Aitken Waterman production. Most of their produced songs are those happy go lucky type.
I used to listen to Jason Donovan a lot last time. His first 2 album is still the best

not sure if u all know this but
Def Leppard - Hysteria or Animal
both excellent songs

a pretty obscure song by Crowded House (besides Don't Dream It's Over) is their song "Fall At Your Feet"
i prefer this over their more popular wan
singing about unrequited love i think blush.gif

The Beatles
"Hey Jude" - nice n lively sing-along at the end, always makes me happy lol

Whitesnakes
"Here I Go Again"
"Is This Love"
both wonderful love power ballads that pretty much represents that era XD

oh yea can't go wrong with
Elvis Presley - Suspicious Minds

most of my favourite bands are from 80s as well, new order, the smiths, the cure, siouxsie, to many to name.

80's music scene is the best. not just pop, even the metal genre.
i bet those majority listen to those are >30 of age or late 20s.
this thread rocks! to those listening to hip hop and nowadays
crap, you don't know what you're missing.
ts, you brought back our nostalgia, almost make me cry. rclxm9.gif notworthy.gif

I love 80s, as I believed it was the era of experimenting electronica, hence with all the "weird" sounds behind the music. Joy Division (New Order after the lead vocal died of commiting suicide), Happy Monday, and other unknown indie bands especially in British.

For more you can check out a music documentary called "24 Hours Party People".

And to add in the hip hop bashing, "Beautiful Girls" sample from an old song title "Stand By Me", and I hate that fat guy, looks like Fat Albert.

Is anyone in here planning to go for the HERE & NOW 2008 TOUR (Best Of 80s) concert in Genting Highland on March 21 & 23?

One of my all time favourite artists, Belinda Carlisle, is joining Banarama, Paul Young, Johnny Hates Jazz and Limahl to perform in Genting. Wow, the last time Belinda was here, it was in 1990 for her Runaway Tour! I am really excited about this but the price of the tickets is killing me! It ranges from RM200 to RM780!! OMG...

wow, did not realise there's a thread about 80s music.. well done people! i am now hooked on Icehouse's Crazy..

the tickets for the 80s concert is indeed pricey.. i guess they know people who will be going will be mostly 30 years old and above, hence they are assuming we CAN afford it.. oh well, i am tempted..
