Hi guys,
I'm having issues with my Legion 7's Wi-Fi card which is a MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7921 Wireless LAN Card. It disconnects for no reason at any time. So, I did some digging and found that it was stated as WLAN 2x2ax+BT under the invoice. I googled it and it came out as an Intel Wi-Fi card model, is that correct?
Has anyone come across this or have any solution?

QUOTE(Damage_bug @ Mar 26 2022, 12:51 AM) it common that legion MediaTek have issue. try call lenovo support for part replacement I was about to actually, then I thought maybe I should ask someone more knowledgeable in the forums first before I make a fool of myself QUOTE(sHawTY @ Mar 26 2022, 12:56 AM) No. That MediaTek card is also a WiFi 6 2x2 BT card Unless that invoice specifically state Intel card, then you have no claims against Lenovo And yes, Anything other than Intel WiFi card will always be crappy You want Intel, you have to buy your own then install it by yourself Aww man, that sucks...but good to know, thanks

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Mar 26 2022, 03:37 AM) If you really want Intel card, you can just purchase it then install it yourself It's not that hard and no, it won't void your warranty whatsoever Legion 7 is made to be upgradable And the card is not that expensive, you can find them easily in Shopee. If you can state which processor is being used inside your laptop, I can state which card is suitable for your laptop Oh, it won't void the warranty? I didn't know that...is that even possible? The processor inside the laptop is an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H

QUOTE(kaitojas @ Mar 28 2022, 06:21 PM) Yes can replace the Wifi card yourself, should be easy as plug and play. QUOTE(overfloe @ Mar 29 2022, 09:58 AM) if you fancy some adventure: https://youtu.be/RoIQqTFFL-M?t=400it is not that hard. Which would be a better choice actually, the AX200 or the AX210?

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Mar 31 2022, 09:12 AM) AX210 supports wifi 6E, AX200 just wifi 6 AVOID AX201 and AX211 as those are CNVIO and will only work on Intel systems. What does the E from the 6E stand for? Since mine is a MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7921, I guess AX200 is the right option?

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Mar 31 2022, 03:06 PM) A new standard, newer than 6, but it's even rarer to find in the wild Wifi 6E routers are also pretty rare Intel explains it here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/pro...s/wi-fi-6e.htmlBut if the price difference isn't too big you could get AX210 to future proof it Sounds good to me! Thank you very much for the info

Ok...just a bit of an update, I finally got Lenovo to send over a technician to replace the card, however the card replaced is a Realtek RTL8852AE wifi card...is that any better than the previous MediaTek one?

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ May 6 2022, 09:45 AM) I think it's best you try it yourself and decide, but in the end the Intel AX200/210 is still the king of wifi 6 cards OK! However the problem with the previous MediaTek was that it disconnects randomly at times...so, I'll need to monitor this new Realtek one...but in your opinion, between MediaTek and Realtek, which would you say is the better option? Or does it really depend on certain circumstances?
