Hey guys... I'm planning of going sign up for Svenson Hair Center treatment next week. Aged 20. But i have been suffering from the hair drop problem since secondary school. My forehead is receding since teenage and its getting more serious nowadays. My forehead has become an obvious M shape. I have tried using tonic from Hairpro but doesn't seems working. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

Does anyone been to this kind of hair growth centre and got any experience to share? What kind of treatment do they do on our scalp and hair ? And how's the treatment price ? I urgently really need some advices and suggestions from u guys. Is Svenson better or Yunnan ??? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Hope u guys can share some experience and help me out ... thz

Fuiyo, how much is the treatment? Yunnan is around 7k for i think 30 treatments! mad!

Would reco u to take the promotion trials and let them examine ur scalp. Those trials should b around rm30 only i think. I found out tht my hair not growing normally due to oily scalp.

Yunnan treatment does clean up the pores and stimulate the hair to grow once the pores are clean. But wht will happen after the 30 treatments? I mean the scalp will bcom oily again once the treatment stops and the hair dropping problem will go back to sq 1.

Btw how much is the svenson treatment?

have you went to svenson and tried out their treatment yet? I think they offer some special introductory price for people to try out and for first time consultation. I am planning to go there as well. Wanna meet there together?

As for yunnan. I went there already and hated their MLM style of sales method. They keep on pushing you and scare you with tactics used in normal MLMs. Then the price they offer also 1 time only. You must decide immediately because if you walk out of their center, the next time you go in, the price will be MORE EXPENSIVE. That's what they said. But that is to urge you into signing up immediately.

They way they explain your problems also same. Oily scalp and all. Not sure if that is the real reason.

Because there are also a lot of other reasons for hair loss. What yunnan explain is only outer level of why hair is falling. The deeper level would be due to male hormons and inheritance. IF you google, these are research result from western worlds.

So, I am not buying yunnan's method. I plan to go sveanson but has been procrastinating for so long....lazy, work and so on.

I think I'm in that group...due to hormon and inheritance, no oily scalp prob laugh.gif my hair is thinning since 3-4 years ago, forehead can see the 'M' shape like the thread starter is having now...anyway, I already get used to it...although always have to trim my hair like the soldier syle for 'cover up' purposes...hehe tongue.gif

Hi Bro,

Stop wasting money on Svenson or other crap haircare centre like Yunnan as they dont really help to solve your hair problem (trust me on this smile.gif ).. There are only 3 ways to address hair loss problem.

-hair transplant (expensive but effective)
-minodixl (topical)
-propecia
-hair weaving but high maintaince (provided by Svenson)

i think u beta get propecia. that is a good way to solve ur hair problem if the cause of ur hair drop is by hormon. propecia shud be less than rm200 and it can last for 1 month i think. well, u have to consume it continuously for 1 years b4 you can c the actual results. but then again, the price is much cheaper than going to any hair treatment center.

but the only side effect of propecia is around 5% people who take it claim tat they have less sex drive.

Don't go lah.
Same as Yun Nam (been there for their promotional RM20 long time ago)

They will show you this catalogue about package on hair treatment.
Like RM20,000 doh.gif

Even my fathers friend went there.
Waste RM20K (bit by bit)but still no hair.
Bit by bit...like thousand a month.
After few years?
Surely add up to RM20K.

Better ask and share your problems here:

http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/.

Then you decide which treatment you want to use.

Rogaine foam pretty good (minoxidil)

Proscar (finastride) also can. (around RM190 in Malaysia but not all pharmacies has it)
Propecia (finastride) also can but a bit none economic because 1 pill = 1 mg
As for Proscar, 1 pill = 5 mg.
Thus, you can split the pill to 4 pieces.

On this 11 October, I'm on Rogaine foam for 4 months.
Still hard to tell but I'll go for at least a year.

Still using 3 cans of Rogaine.
Cost RM240.
Bought online at evitamins.com.

Using once a day....before bedtime.
Since I have frontal baldness...just using small portion...as big as a 20 cent.

Haiz .... sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif so bad having this kind problem some more im just only 20 now. I really can't imagine what will it be in elder life. Always looking friends around or celebrities having nice hairstyle but i can't do anything on it. The Svenson Haircare Center really that expensive ar ? Sad...

Anyway thankz u guys for the information. From the advice given, i come out a conclusion that :

1) Rogaine (minoxidil) is topical foam applied on scalp
2) Both Proscar and Propecia are drugs for intake to regulate our hormone and side effect associated

right ??? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Can i buy Rogaine (minoxidil) in local pharmacies and how's the price ???
I'm thinking of using the combination of shampoo from Nioxin plus the Rogaine. Is that ok ??? icon_question.gif

20 years old?
With Rogaine Foam you can easily grow it back.
Some young people in the web sites had early results.

Rogaine foam does not sold in Malaysia.
Need to buy online.

I think you can try BF1 Hair Growth Mask. It is said good for oily scalp. The most important is it cost effectiveness compare with treatment centre. The whole sethas been feature by Nanyang this year (2007) as a product with 0% complaint rate so far

Where to do? actually Malaysia oso got but rather expensive lar... I heard GlenEagle got offer this but expensive! if u wanna do then its better for u to do it in Singapore as its cheaper as compare to here (wierd leh)... And oso its very much depends on the severity of your hair problem and u might need to do a few times before you can get the result u wanted lor.. How much does it cost? well if u can spend 20K at yun nam then u can definite pay lor.. its about 13-15K for 1500 folicles transplant lor and u oso need to bare in mind that once you have male pattern baldness then it will no stop lor.. tats the sad thing lar, u need to accept it.. u can slow donw the process but cannot prevent as its already genetical prog before you were actually born hehehe... Get plenty of $$$$ and do transplant tongue.gif

After hours of googling.
Minoxidil seem work. Refer the description below or google for more info.
I bought one few weeks ago in www.eBay.com.my keyword: minoxidil

Good luck

WHAT IS MINOXIDIL?

Minoxidil is a vasodilator (the process in which the blood vessels expand), originally used to treat high blood pressure in an oral drug known as Loniten. During the use of this drug, it was later discovered to have significant "hair regrowth" capabilities. In 1988, Pharmacia & Upjohn Co. first introduced the FDA-approved formula under the brand name "Rogaine" which was proven to STOP HAIR LOSS in its tracks, and actually help REGROW HAIR BACK THAT WAS ALREADY LOST!!! Since 1996 (patent expired Feb 13, 1996), these products and strengths can now be sold over-the-counter as non-prescription drugs. The minoxidil up for sale is a clear solution, not a foam, gel, or irritating lotion. Both the 2%(Men and Women) and 5%(Men Only) have now been approved by the FDA for over the counter distribution. Although the mechanism of action to this day is still unknown, Minoxidil still exceeds as the number one treatment for hair loss in the United States!!!

WHO CAN USE MINOXIDIL?

Minoxidil has been proven to be effective to stop hair loss and regrow hair for both men and women of all colors and types. Typically the 5% and above is for men only, and the 2% strength is for both men and women. If you are just starting to thin on the top of the scalp, it is recommended that you start with the 2% first, and see how this strength works, before moving on to a stronger concentration. Women should not use any strength higher then the 2%.

DO NOT USE MINOXIDIL IF YOU:
*

Are currently Pregnant or lactating
*

Under the age of 18
*

Currently use other medications on the scalp
*

Have infected, irritated, painful or sunburned scalp
*

If you have any doubts about using this product, talk to your physician first

Hello chgchksg128, thanks so much for the advice! I have actually tried Propecia before, but it did not really work for me. As in, there was certainly no increase in my hair growth, so i was scared about just swallowing pill after pill and stopped taking it altogether (i have already voted btw! good blog!). I am thinking of taking serious steps like getting hairpiece or something. You guys got any suggestions where I can go?

Hey hikochi, i know i feel very yucks about getting a wig too, but i heard they have some new technology in some spore haircare centres which can make the wig look so undetectable to the eye and to touch. also ah, i heard some horror story about hair transplant, i m damn scared to go for surgery unless i m like super desperate, haha m short of cash too la. thought i try a wig first and see whether it is okay. my fren in singapore got one from some place and he says its pretty good, i just go for consultation first la,refuse to sign contract or anything yet, will keep you updated on whats going on! thanks!

Hey! Actually i took it for lets see...around 1 and half years, my hairfall reduced slightly, but not much difference. It is just becoming more and more obvious that my hairline is receding and I am getting a bald patch. This is really really horrible, cant even show my face out in public. Thats why i want to take more drastic steps, whether it is hair transplant operation or hairpiece. I went down to Singapore last weekend actually, woah the traffic jam at the causeway is crazy man, anyways i went to several haircare centres to figure out what I can do and I have shortlisted down to a few. Will research a bit more and find out whether have bad rep or something. Will keep yall updated!

hair loss most of the time is due to insuffiecient oxygen circulation to the root of your hair. it also because of the not enuf nutrien deliver to your hair.

i woould personally recomend your to go to see a Dr on the issue. they would most probably eithier use Mesotherapy ( but it's ban in singapore ), microneedling therapy and lights to treat your. result is assure and it's much cheaper than going to those hair centre.

Hi all, over the last weekend, went down to Singapore hair centre called iaremyhair. so far, i am pretty impressed. they werent pushy, they explained everything i needed to know about wigs and how they have good technology so that hairpiece looks undetectable. i signed a contract with them which will last 12 months, and they are providing a min no of maintainence sessions as well as minimum number of wigs. i am quite happy withy my choice. m going down next weekend again to start fitting for my first piece. yay i m quite excited!!!

i will prefer to get regaine or head way..they are tad more expensive but they are at least original. Kirkland sells for around RM 150 on the market and if it goes for 200 for 3 months i am afraid it might not be real...

Wrong!!! ---- 4th is:

Make the best of what is YOU. Restyle (but no combovers pleeze), mamak electric no 1 or 0, shave skinhead, wear cap, etc.

Unattached? You need to know that potential partners (esp gals, a few told me) sometimes LIKE thin hair.

All the rest is false ego, grasping for the unreal and unattainable. Enjoy being yourself in your own present life!

You can opt for cancellation after dissatisfied with the result of first treatment. Subsequebnt treatment charge RM128 or you pay for whole course after less your trial treatment cost.

If that is not within your budget. You can always buy their homecare hair growth set cost RM462. You will be given one homecare Hair Growth set for free if you sign up it treatment set. The above all has been feature by Nanyang? this year (2007) as a product that have 0% complaint rate.

Now, they offer a tester set for first timer to try their product which cost only RM188 per set (Until 30 September 2007, Original RM212)

Even their Shampoo and tonic of Hair loss control set which cost RM49 and RM99 respectively also selling very well in some small town in Malaysia like Kuantan.

THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK - FINAL..if you can grow your hair back in 7 days then it's not a hair loss product but a miracle product. Please do not promote products like this here. Don't capitalize on people's desperation to cure hair loss. There is no evidence whatsoever on how this product can regain back your hair. You are also overpricing this product, the costs is less than RM10 per bottle..

After I've gone to B 101 for 8 months and got no result. I decided to venture on my own as well.

Don't go B 101. Although, you might think it's cheaper than the rest. But still waste of money.

If you'r interested, read my experience here.

Hey guys,

A piece of advice from me. I'm 26 years male. Hamilton Norwood scale 2A to 3. Let me review things that I've tried.

1. Propecia. Works by slowing the progress of hair thinning, if lucky will grow new hair. Lifetime commitment. Will experience catch up hair loss if decided to stop after taking it for a period of time (e.g 2 years >). Still using.

2. Rogaine Foam. Works on the crown area. Quite hassle. Need to apply twice daily (morning and night). Works quite well with propecia. Stop using because of the hassleness.

3. Hair transplant. Works the best. But since hair thinning is progressive, it is not adviseable to perform HT at young age. Doctor advice to perform it after 35 years old. I perform a 1300 grafts HT to my temple area at Thailand around RM 7K ++. Now 5 mths after procedure. Experience some hair growth. HT in Singapore is quite expensive.

4. Hair weaving (Svenson). Like what other members mentioned, the maintenance is quite high.

5. Other kind of tonic, snake oil or magic oil. Most products in market do not work on MPB (male pattern baldness). So stop being cheated.

Concealer

1. Toppik. Apply on thinning hair to make it fuller. Works quite well. Still using.

2. Nanogen. Same like toppik. Stop using because Toppik is cheaper.

3. Couvre. Claim to be used by Hollywood celebrities. Apply to skin to even the color of hair and skin. Plan to try.

I also wan to share my experience with hair care centre.

i went to 101 hair care and try they promotion, they offer free analisis and 1 time treatment at RM18. After analisis they claim that my hair scalp is too oily and offer me a treatment package at rm5000 plus and rm2000 plus for the healty product, so totall is rm7000 plus. Important is when I ask then can guarantee my hair growth back after the treatment, she say NO. what the hell is it, really suck $$$. Finally I din sign the agreement and run away. They do call me back to do the treatment for free and I din, RM18 was fly away.

I saw many people comment that minoxidil 5% is work so I go to buy 3 months supply from lelong.com.my. now already 6 month and my hair is growth many, it really work. haha. I oni apply 1 time instead of twice a day, it save my $$ too. Lucky i did pay so much to 101 if not bankrupt now. Now just pay thundred plus and can see the result redi.

Hi guys,

I aso want to share my experience with 101 hair care center at queensbay there. I spent about 6k there and the only thing works is their shampoo... please do not go to any of the hair care center if u have a male patern baldness as they cant do shit with the herb.

They even free me 10 treatment session claimed to worth 3k ++. which is load of crap with condition i buy their tonic which cost a whopping 250 per month.

I am now using minoxidil 5% for two months and notice the hair is getting thicker but the density is less. lets c how it goes for another 4 months as i have 6 months supply.

How bout the shampoo king?

any1 here use that?

mind to share?

Hi guys,

I have been to both places, Svensons or even Yun Nam both are useless... one offered me a RM16K package and the other RM4K for a start to keep continuosly seeking treament... Money is not an issue however, I just hate their MLM marketing style. Forcing people to sign up on the spot. The treatments are merely to reduce your hair loss, so what about regrowth? Forget it. I spoke to my family doctor, and he told me frankly that once hair loss has started its almost impossible to stop it. Minoxidil is not recommended for young males as he said it will affect the genitals and sperm production. The best you could do is go for a hair transplant which will cost about RM20K and if you go to a professional hair transplant centre the results wont be like Samy Vellu. Yun Nam is really unprofessional and I wonder if they can produce the names of so called 170 000 satisfied clients. Probably those are just the ones who went there for consultation. They keep on forcing you to swipe your card, I made a decision to just walk out. I ask the Svenson consultant if there is guarantee for regrowth and she said there is none. So after all the treatments and your hair still drops you cant do anything against them.

Hair loss problem is because the hair growth rate is lower than the hair fall rate and everyone root cause in this problem is not the same.
The best treatment for this problem is improve own cells which means the body system will improve on itself and do they work they should be doing, means growing hair and reducing loss of hair.
Natural therapy which emphasizing on the cells will helps better than treatment that emphasize on the surface of the problem.
PM me for more information.

My opinion on this matter.

First, check your root problem. Are the problem because of MPB( male patern baldness) or else? go check to your doctor and not the hair care centre. If MLB, I think hair care centre can't cure this one. They only capable ( maybe) treat something other than MPB.

My experience. I am only 30 something and having MPB.Because of the diet I had before, I already losing my hair since early 20.I know I can't avoid and run away from MPB but at least, I want to keep my hair until 50 like my father did.

I bought and tried many products available on market except minoxidil and propecia. Now I give up.I already booked minoxidil from amazon.com ( thanks to jason from baldmanunited).

My current products

syampoo ->

1.nizoral ( very good syampoo..using it twice a week). This syampoo has a lower DHT blocker.
2.audace syampoo ( daily syampoo).very good syampoo for oily hair.

I will get my kirkland minoxidil next 2 weeks and will use it.

Added on December 14, 2010, 11:29 amsorry..

correction.. not MLB --> but MPB

Fraud to misleads clients

Top employees at Taiwan Svenson..... Hair Co were indicted on fraud charges yesterday for allegedly selling common shampoo products with no medical properties at unreasonably high prices.

The Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office yesterday indicted the owner of the company, Chen Ying-chi (陳穎祺), 48, and four of the company’s officials.

Prosecutors said S...... has run seven stores in Taiwan since 2005. The company sells 47 highly priced hair health and restoration products and offers courses on hair health and rejuvenation.

Prosecutors said a customer surnamed Soong (宋), 24, had spent more than NT$460,000 on S.....’s products and courses, but found they had had no impact on his hair loss.

Soong subsequently filed a fraud lawsuit with the Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office against the company.

Prosecutors said Hong Kong movie star Waise Lee (李子雄) had been hired to endorse the products in an advertisement.

They said Lee, who has a hair loss problem, wore a wig to prove his hair had been restored.

Prosecutors said they believed the company might have committed fraud.

Prosecutors said a man surnamed Wang (王) also endorsed S...... products in an advertisement. The company allegedly filmed the man after having him cut his hair to make it look as though he had less hair and then filmed him one month later after his hair had grown back.

In a further move designed to win public trust, prosecutors said the company had movie star Aaron Chen (陳昭榮) and TV variety show host Hsu Nai-lin (徐乃麟) promote the company’s products.
