Does anyone know for a new property unit, how much do we usually need to pay for the TNB Meter deposit and also the TNB application submission fee?

i remember last year i pay rm5++ but mine is condo.. (deposit)

you can apply through mytnb portal. It is very efficient and fast.

I paid RM7++ for Condo, but they did make a mistake for my case.

Anyway, go to the portal and apply there if you need to.

There are a few arbitrary rules practised by TNB when it comes to collection of deposit.

Generally it depends on whether it’s a commercial or residential unit.

Also the average bills incurred prior.

Anyways tnb pays 2.5% interest on the deposit by way of giving rebate on the January bill. Which at the moment is better than savings and even FD rates.

Minor correction there. Not via giving rebate in Jan bill.
But the 2.5% interest is added into the deposit every year in January. Your TNB deposit will increase over the years.

Just received letter for TNB deposit paid by developer.. RM1460 .. why i feel this 1 is a bit too high? or is it normal? 2 bedroom serviced apartment.. any way for us to reduce this?

Abnormal, was paying 500 plus stamping fee for SOHO 835sf in Sunway

Asked for confirmation from developer.. Apparently the amount is correct ..

Yup, but tnb will actually calculate a small amount of interest to you and add to your deposit, until you close the account. You can take it as savings
