Hmm.. U installed the latest driver(1.08)/firmware(1.25)....?
If u did im guessing something went wrong during flashing ur mouse...
Try to flash it again.. Coz i tried the first time it failed... Gave me a scare only  shocking.gif  huhu.....

BTW.. Izzit me or the DA is quite warm..? hmm.gif
*
Yearp, the DA is quite warm with the led lights turned on. I turn it off when gaming, on when showing off..lolz.

BTW, add my in the Razered list - DA on eXactmat.

Soon to be added is the Lycosa and Piranha..w00t!

actually, it's warm because of the led light beneath your palm. Razer has this annoying habit of putting bright blue led all over their products. Eye-piercing to the max.

I don't know if this is OT, but I doubt it is.

I recently purchased a Razer Barracuda from...well let's just leave him anonymous for now, all I can say that he is a very trusted seller from LYN. I received it today, took it out of the box, hooked to up and was about to put in on my head when it broke!

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The whole ear-piece broke from the unit. I was...well, devastated. I contacted the guy that sold it to me, he said he wanted to inform me of the "right" way to put it on my head, but didn't make it in time, he also added that it has happened to another customer, the same thing! Has anyone else had this problem before?

Another thing, my DA mouse. The Razer eXactmat, especially the "Speed" side, totally destroyed the mouse-feet, it feels like I'm grinding the mouse-feet. The "Control" side is much better. And have you noticed that you can't turn the center scroll wheel when the right-mouse button is depressed, well, this may not be so important but it could be classified as a design flaw.

What I'm trying to say is, I pay alot for these Razer stuff, assuming that their good. But frankly, I've lost confidence in them lately. I may get banged by fanboys and such, but I'm trying to voice out here. Anyone else facing quality problems with Razer stuff?

EDIT: More pictures added.

@maverick,

wahh.. i feel u.. sure damn pain rite after spending 300 bucks on some headset, n breaks apart when putting it on for the first time.. IMO, u should get a replacement for that barracuda.. if tht doesn't help, maybe u should try razersupport, but make sure u have your receipt, or watever as proof of purchase..

.. my previous db also faulty, right click cant click properly.. so hard to click.. so sent back to razer.. got new one.. my previous exactmat, use use until got 2 worn off lines on the smooth n control side... n i got a replacement exactmat from razer (they sent me a new one without asking me to send the faulty one back) .. hehe..

and for my tarantula.. somehow the usb ports wun work wif my thumbdrive, ipod, printer, etc etc.. only my db, n other stuff tht requires power works on the 2 usb ports only.... so i may be returning it to razer to get a new one.. hehe.. tht aso depends on whether i want to or not ..

but anyhow, im still happy with them coz they replaced my faulty stuff without having to go thru so much hassle..
*
Well, I'm definitely gonna send it back..duh. 1-to-1 replacement. But I'm seriously considering a refund, I don't want to pay RM 300 for something that has a serious design flaw and could break anytime! What do you guys think?

sorry to hear ur predicament...but ur not alone....the razer barracuda headset has a reputation of breaking actually. theyre not known for their durability...but more for the lack of.

the next time u intend to spend that kinda money on gaming headphones i would strongly recommend u forego "gaming" headphones totally and get the Audio Technica A500 + a cheap mic. the A500 costs roughly RM352 inclusive of shipping from bluetin.com (but not inclusive of taxes which should only be a few bucks more). added up it comes out roughly the same price as a barracuda if not slightly more. and sound better too.
*
Hrmm, thanks for the advice dude. I'll try to get a refund. I'll take ur recommendation into consideration. I had a Audio-Technica M30, until my younger brother blew the speakers, well that's what brought me to where I am today..lolz...life sure is weird.

guys, are our razer all made from china?
*
Yeah, pretty much. Can't help it tho. I haven't heard of problems like this with Logitech stuff tho. Sure, Razer has bling bling, "For Gamers. By Gamers"...but in the end, I think Logitech makes better quality stuff, they may lack in performance and comfort, but I think Logitech make better quality stuff.

I Highly advise you NOT to use Razer headphones, I had VERY bad experience. They make pretty good mouses and mousepads, maybe some decent keyoards, but headphones apparently aren't their thing. I suggest you don't buy them so quickly..

give them a break , the barracuda was their first . i think they would have had enough complaints about the fragility of the barracuda to start making better quality headsets

not to forget , he said SEE it at pcfair . doesnt in any way mean that he is gonna get it sweat.gif
*
Well, I think they have enuf "breaks"...don't u think? Anyway, u r probably right, let's see what they cook up, you'll probably see me at the Razer booth trying to break it...muahahaha!!!

Kewl...but I still can't make up my mind between the G15 and the Lycosa, the G15 is almost RM 50 more expensive, but the LCD screen seems useful, plus orange backlight just plain rockz, but...
the rubberized keys on the lycosa are awesome...life is never plain and simple, is it?

I'll be spending my time there doing :

1) Trying out, testing the Lachesis and Lycosa
2) Trying to get my hands on a few Razer freebies, such as bags or stickers
3) Will insist on testing a Barracuda and breaking it to pieces "accidentally" infront of them while looking absolutely innocent and have many witnesses to back me up.

Muahahaha!!! Payback's a b****!

I came, I saw, I analyzed and observed. The Barracuda was begging me to break it, but it was doing so on someone else's head...I waited as long as I could, which wasn't long, was in a rush today...so in the end, I didn't get to "break" it, but do not despair!! For I will return!! TOMORROW!! Tomorrow, I'm taking the train there, going straight to the Razer booth, "break" it, smile, take a pic and go home and pray they don't sue me.

Oh, and I got a look at the Lycosa, well, I have to say, the keys are hard to read in daytime, barely readable with the lights on at daytime too, the thing is a major fingerprint magnet, and it's not cheap!! I have to really think this through....at the same time, I couldn't find the G15, they said stock will only arrive tomorrow, well, technically, today actually...lol...oh, and the estimated price is 340!!! My dad is scolding me for even CONSIDERING to buy it..lol!! Times change, don't they?

I tried the Laichi, didn't really fit well into my hand, especially the side buttons.
Will wait for the Boomslang.......

Same here bro, it' so small...my palm covered the whole thing. The right side buttons are very difficult to press too, for a right handed person lar...IMO the DA feels much better..The Copperhead also not that bad...

Normal lar, like this cases...lol, Ban Leong kinda like monopolizing the Razer marker..lol..anyway..

I decided not to buy the Lycosa, it expensive and IMO, what you pay doesn't really justify the price, name only canggih...

The Barracuda, well, they didn't let me try it, they told me no opened unit, I think that's bull shit, someone else must've broken it...whoever you are, you have avenged me!! LOLZ!

Gaming company making audio products are very..um..."iffy"...but depends la, they say THX this, Dolby that....could be all hype, u never know....but I'll put my money on a true and trusted company with decades of audio product history...like Altec-Lansing, SonicGear, Creative or something.
