Wanted to ask, all Streamyx migration to the Unifi Fiber mandates a new contract of 2 years?

Unifi Team said generally the IP address given under 30mbps don't have non-cgnat IP but we can request to it post-installation. This adhoc change trustable?
*
I thought if you are on streamyx all these years, you already on private IP. Yes you can request public IP, but whether they want to give you is another story. May ask for proof of the need to use public IP.

QUOTE(jhleo1 @ May 23 2022, 01:25 PM)
Transfer to other service provider if don't want 2 years contract.
*
This is misleading statement. Even if you transfer to other provider, there will also be 2 years contract. If do not want contract, then terminate and use prepaid plan.

QUOTE(filage @ May 23 2022, 02:49 PM)
They didn't ask the phone back from you? how you get confirmation that it's perpetual and contractless? They have you a handout statement like Bank Loan contract with the TnC everything? Coz it seems they just mentioned it by word on phone and text message we not sure how to get the confirmation officially and non arbitrary way.
*
Weard during those days when I change from Streamyx to Unifi, no need to return anything. The phone can be reuse on my Unifi.

White box only works with VLAN600 on a LAN cable

No wifi

Even you managed to configure your wifi to broadcast VLAN600 it would be awful

Can someone enlighten me for TM to install Fiber in my upper floor bedroom, basically they will pull a wire from the pole and clip the wire along my walls on the balcony, come in through a floor gap on out balcony to bedroom door (this was the way the old copper came in), and then clip it some more on the wall until it reaches area where I want to place the BTU Modem, then they will make the small box thing- attached box to the wall and bring out the smaller blue / yellow wires out to connect with the BTU modem?

We have a ethernet cable that runs through a sealed pipe from upstairs to downstairs but I don't suppose we can insert anything into this pipe anymore right?

In future if we want to migrate the modem/router location to downstair, we only can connect the BTU upstair with the ethernet that runs via the pipe to downstairs and bring a router downstairs, connect to it. That's the only way? ie. There is no practical value of installing the BTU downstairs?

just go to shopee and search optic patch cable, as well optic connector.
The only thing you need to make sure aside of length is, it is listed as
1. Single mode
2. UPC connector (blue color, not anything else especially green)

It's supposed to be plug and play. Just attach the connector to join your existing fiber to new. And route the cable. Just be careful not to kink your fiber.

For free installation, they will find the easiest root to go through. Perhaps as mentioned by you above. If you want to customise the installation you can nego with them, subject to additional charges.

On the bolded part

No they no longer install FWS since like 2018 for my BTU relocation and also heard it from some other members here

The fiber optic that they pulled from the tiang will directly plugged into your BTU (Literally FTT"Modem")

"Reason" given: Lower signal if use FWS

Not sure if they reintroduced it later on tho
