Just got offered "free" wifi 6 router and mesh in exchange for 1year warranty. Checked around, it's likely to be the 2 x Fiberhome SR1041Y setup.

Anybody has any experience with this? I'm in a 2-storey link.

mybe you will get Fiberhome SR1041Y or D-LINK DIR X1860Z.
There are rumors that the Fiberhome SR1041Y router is no longer provided and replaced with the D-LINK DIR X1860Z. After all, it's just a rumor

Apart from Time, Allo, or Celcom Timur in Sabah, other provider also use TM's infra. So in one way or another, you will still encounter TM.

Yeah not everywhere but quite a decent amount of places, Maxis deploys their own infra

They also make use of others infra like Allo infra

30Mbps and 100Mbps can choose w/o entertainment.
300Mbps and higher can't. Very stupid forced bundling when we don't need such. And TM is smart to apply entetainment bundle (RM60) then immediately give special discount (RM60), so nett effect on bill is RM0; but, that means if we are to unsubscribe just the entertainment, our broadband bill total will still be unaffected and stupidly remain the same high.

You can also go for other providers.
Unifi (Maxis, Digi, Celcom) all part of national HSBB network, depending on location availability.

I engaged Maxis the moment I saw Unifi putting up DB on pole right behind my place, and Maxis do the chasing up to have my address registered ASAP into HSBB premises database.

Ahh I see, thanks for that. Suck big time for TM to do that

My location is at JB so its very limited choices here, so far I only saw TM & Astro Fibre are available in my area after I checked Celcom, Time, and Maxis using the coverage checker thing.

Maybe register interest like your trick will help.

If Unifi is available, any provider on HSBB will also be available.

I engaged Maxis right after the DB is put up, before my address even appeared inside HSBB premise database. if address is not in database, it won't be available on the checker; walk-in as they have a different interface with more recent database content than the web checker. Maxis did the chasing; now already have the premise fibre-ed by Maxis, done in a month.

P/S: i heard my would-be neighbours went to TM point to register, but got cold treament by staff. aborted, word spread; en-masse straight went to Maxis as well. i guess that will increase the sour puss-ness in TM point.

I just realised my neighbor's Unifi cable runs from the pole, overhangs above our balcony and reaches over to their upper bedroom. Generally it doesn't affect us, as we don't use the balcony much and it is somewhat above human height - ceiling height ie. But what if hypothetically some neighbors don't like this overhanging cables above their balcony, what can they do?

Will be visiting TM Point today to try my luck with SWU. On 30Mbps, no more contract since last year. Hoping to get 300Mbps for RM129.

I already try 500Mbps with Digi.
Tm won't budge on offering me anything above 300Mbps at RM129
Even me ok RM159 for 500Mbps also won't counter offer me and say will proceed with transfer.

But me want the phone number and take the RM129 for 300Mbps instead.

She do say next 2 years after contract and see laugh.gif
