well in that case, just use any that you're comfortable with. both OS works great. pros n cons.

If you heavily relied on Android ecosystem, don’t switch. iOS is a pretty restrictive ecosystem where you have to put some efforts for a simple task that usually straightforward on Android like sideload/transfer unsupported files. I switched to iPhone 13 from Android (Last phone was Galaxy S10+) and feel kinda regret switching to iOS. It can’t do what I usually did to my previous S10

Full disclosure, I had my wife's IP7 kept in the drawer (unused). Last year, i committed to myself by putting my sim into IPhone (primary reason was to try AppleCarPlay). Yes, it was very gruesome experience and your points are totally nailed it. I use for 3 days before switching back Android. But I noticed Apple's Map is getting better nowadays.

I have been jumping here and there from iOS to Android, and Android back to iOS. From the list of things that you mentioned, it looks like Android is the only one that fits your demand. Be prepared to feel frustrated for the first few months of using iOS and then see if the frustration goes away or not. xD

1. I use apple own file system, connect to synology via SMB in LAN status

2. Video player i sub infuse pro, yearly 44 only.

3. I occasionally also using ds download, unfortunately due to apple restrictions, no longer available. I use tailscale to remote login and start my ds download

4. I dont use any wifi analyzer. Cannot  help on this

1. Was mentioned at the top, but yes thanks for confirming that.
2. I never knew about infuse until you mentioned it, I've read the feature and ticks all the check boxes. FYI, the similar apps is offered for free in Android (check for Nova player) with TMDB and OpenSubtitles integration. But, thanks for suggesting that app, will give it a try.
3. Tailscale is more on accessing your LAN without the need of doing port-forwarding on your router. So you use tailscale and use DS Downloader web UI to manage your download is it?

For tech savvy and IT freak, it is best to stick with android. Iphone has so many limitation that will eventually make u unproductive while on the go.

I am a developer. So I actually use both platform currently. My general advice towards android or iOS is depending on what's your other devices.

If you only have a phone. Android will just serve you as good with cheaper price. However if you are using other apple devices like iPad or Mac, apple ecosystem is unparalleled
