Anyways, may I know if there are anybody here using a dishwasher?

Currently, I'm looking at Electrolux, Beko, Bosch. Anybody here got use before these brands? Any comment?

And is there any type of dishware I cannot put in the dishwasher?


Personally, I'm leaning more to Electrolux because I received great customer service from them when my washer broke down in the past but I hope u guys can share your experience of owning a dishwasher.

I use glo and sunlight only.

I wash everything in my house...so yeah

i use bosch, bought a display model. its all the same, other then soap tablet they use hot water, so could easily clean the stubborn plate

but for small amount of cleaning such as few plate, i suggest just use ure hand.

How long have u used your unit? Any problems so far?

May I also ask if u use rinse aid or just dishwasher detergent only?

i use electrolux for washer n dryer. never had problem with dryer. but for washer, have problem with ants getting into one of electronic parts. they immediately change the parts, not much question asked.

My model use soap tablet (Finish brand), dont ask me how to use it only my wife know.
per tablet can wash a lot of plates, mug and even kuali, best used after family visitation . she never bising2 anymore.

beko is turkish brand? not so sure about after sales and parts because still new in our market.

Dishwasher is a great appliances. Makes your life much easier

But you need to have more plates & utensils than normal people. Because you would want to only run it when it is full. Each cycle would take around 2 hours. It saves water, not electricity. You need special dishwashing liquid for dishwasher, not the normal sunlight we use. Not everything could be put into a dishwasher, so you need to make sure the things you use at home is dishwasher friendly.

I don't have any at home. But my sister have 2 in her house. Teka brand. So far no complaint.

I have been using dish washer for almost 12 years and they are really great in cleaning. First one I bought second hand a Fagor for just Rm400. Unfortunately it got damage when my house pipe leak. My current dish washer is a brand from Turkey “Brant”. Have been using it for 4 years now and is totally great.

Not exactly true, I found a used Compact 8 place setting Toshiba Dishwasher for below RM800 from an expat who was leaving Malaysia; Brand new is about RM 950 - RM 1100

Eco-Mode takes 3.5hours to wash, rinse and dry

There is another programme that get stuff washed, rinse & dry in 1.5 hours too

Quick Mode takes about 35 mins to wash, and I can clean a greasy Air Fryer in no time. (one appliance everyone loves to use but no one wants to wash up)

Since this is a compact model, so can get filled quite fast & the power consumption is also low. I monitor my usage daily and I think on average it takes about 0.5 to 1 kwh unit.

You are right about not placing wood items, seasoned cast iron pans etc. However, other general items can be thrown into the dishwasher. A smaller compact unit is more worth it for a family of 4 - 6 persons.

Since only need 35 mins, I can run it twice if needed. Dried stuck on items require a longer wash cycle (ie Stainless Steel Rice Cooker Innerpot with overnight stuck on rice starch)

Also if you have a family or often have friends visiting, better to go for bigger capacity. From what I've seen people only regret getting the smaller capacity ones, instead of regretting getting a dishwasher.

Oh I didn't know the quick wash setting also can cleaning greasy stuff like airfryer. I guess we all stuck with the mentality of more (time) = cleaner. Just like washing machine which most of the time we run full cotton setting.

Hi, do you use rinse aid in the compact dishwasher or just the normal tablet only?

I prefer the dishwasher powder & rinse aid separately. Toshiba model can pre-set the dose amount of rinse aid based on requirement.

So far, I find the quick cycle leaves the item wet; the 1hr 30 minutes cycle properly washes, rinses and dries off (with rinse aid)

But airfryer, I wipe off the excess grease first with kitchen towel before placing in dishwasher.

Worry the grease might clog my drain, more than the dishwasher itself.

So far, the air fryer basket is much more cleaner compared to manual washing.

Washing machine, yea we run full cotton cycle too but this really depends on washing machine brand and model. LG Front Load is one of the fastest we have used for standard cotton wash; around 1hr30 mins (even with extra rinse added in); unless I choose heavy soiled (or intensive as LG calls it); then it washes longer.

In any case, best to trial and error each programme; at first I also thought need to use the 1hr30 minutes cycle only on the dishwasher but 35 mins yields good results for me as well.

Very true, first bought a used Electrolux Tabletop Dishwasher for cheap; it cleaned well but was too small and couldn't fit some of our larger than usual dinner plates.

Eventually sold it off and bought a used Toshiba; my house doesn't have space for full sized dish washer. I find 8 place size is just nice for us; can fill up the major serving items and the small stuff like mugs and cast iron wok etc, we still handwash.

If family or friends visit, probably just have to do two loads I guess.

any recommendation on the brands?

Prefer a narrow one for apartment use, as i would like to fit into the existing kitchen cabinet area that developer provided (i.e. minimal dismantling) . thanks

well- my wife insisting to get one for our new house.
i am like 50:50

my guess is that i would take 20 mins to was and clean all the dishes with hand.
while to rinse and place one by one will take 10 mins, and to take out after it is done take another 5 mins

so in the end only save like 5 mins.?

if to buy, either Bosh or Electrolux.

Placing dished is like after every time pakai letak dalam, habis cycle take out. I kira, not more than 10 mins in total thorughout the day (in/out)

Its just not time that is being saves, its the stress level

Last time hate it to cook, or eat at home. After the dishwasher, I never had a negative thought about doing the dishes. Dulu I run once every 2-3 days, now its almost daily, between 1-2 days because I just dont care One less thing on the mind Bro

Oh, I use Beko DFN, sbb it was cheap, so at the time on the pagar like you, at least kalau white elephant not that costly of an elephant.

I think they recommend to open the door a little bit after the dishwasher done washing the dishes, do u guys do it everytime?

is there a big difference if dun open?

some may ask wat is the purpose of opening the door.....

for the hot air of drying dishes to escape and prevent condensation back to the plate.... so end up dryer dishes.....

Yes we always let it breathe after dishes are done, to dry out the DW as well.

Some newer one, with the help of rinse-aid, and internal ventilation fan+high heat final rinse x perlu.

However, malaysia weather climatic laaa, 80% of the time it dries perfectly, 20% of the time ada wet. IF i happen to pass by and the dish is there and malas nk simpan, i just open the door ajar until someone datang rajin to kemas

I'm using a Bosch built in dishwasher. It's 5 years old and I've owned it for the last 6 months. It hasn't given any trouble and according to the expatriate family that owned it before me it has never needed any service or repairs other than they replaced all the gaskets for precautionary reasons. Before I installed it into my cabinet, I had the pump replaced as I didn't want a situation where it had to be dismantled because it requires maintenance.

I also have a smaller dishwasher. It's a Fotile and access is from the top rather than front. It is perfect for smaller households or those who don't want to wait for a full load to run the machine. I mainly use it to wash fruits and vegetables though.

Items you shouldn't put in a dishwasher?
-Knives.
-Crystal.
-Metallic etched china.
-Non stick pans.
-Cast iron pans.
-Stainless steel pans.
-Many plastic dishes.
-Wood, especially wooden bowls or cutting boards.

New one ada vent fan/hole that can be closed during washing cycle, uses high temp water and rinse aid to aid drying (hot water+hot materials = high heat load+water evaporation)

Hey all.. Need some advice trying to choose the best option between these 3 Bosch models. SMI4HCS48E, SMS4HCI60E, and the SMS4HMC01R. I sorta understand cleaning-wise they'll all perform satisfactorily. However, which would be the better option to go with in a new cabinet build. Thanks.

Edit: Worth it to ignore em & just spend more to get the SMS6ECC51E instead? The dishwasher will be used at least twice weekly. ☺️

I am seriously considering this one but price is 🤯 is it good for dishwashing?

Otherwise I was considering a countertop Bosch (space limitations and cost of cabinet make it difficult to retrofit a built in/freestanding), is the Bosch countertop any good?

Bought a Beko countertop dishwasher (small) and pretty good... not as big as those full size as small family of 4 people just nice... 1 meal or 2 meal can fill up the dishwasher and clean... result pretty good... can also fit into kitchen cabinet if want... but I left it in yard top of washing machine... kitchen too much gadget and coffee machine no space there hahaha

Ate those smaller table top dishwashers ok?
Saw Xiaomi, Midea etc sub RM1k type.

I am using Toshiba Dish washing. You really need to spare a lot of plate, spoon, fork because you may be have to accumulate from morning until dinner before press start.

How much does it cost you for the Toshiba dishwasher?

Ok so far table / countertop dishwasher Beko / Midea/ Xiaomi so far ok je.

product is good and best part is no need bend down, very convenient.
