dear all, this is my first time in this page.. Hi to all!!..

Added on June 2, 2009, 11:21 amI need some advice from u guys and girl(love girl who ride with professional ethics, they rocks!!). I am using TZM which i bought 6 moths ago... at first, theres no problem even when speeding all day.. a problem but couple months back then, the valve started to leak(smoke coming out it). Performance dropped and so on... Ive changed the new valve 3 weeks ago (1st time was right after i bought the bike) and still it leaks.. Any idea?? My friend's bike has been using the same valve for years and he is quite a journeyman..

Any advice or tips would be very2 appreciated...

Is the powervalve sweep smooth when you turn on the engine? Is the battery working?
- PV servo will die if battery bad. This jams the PV and engine will go along with it.

What 2T do you use?
- Should use good one. Read around for recommendation. Rule of thumb, should not spend less than RM15. Exhaust tail pipe should not drip oil.

Which part did you change? The valve rod, seal, or servo? How much?
What does your mechanic say about the block when he changed the valve? Is the block still perfect condition or loose?
What TZM block you have? Y-1 or Y-2? It is stamped on the right side of the block.
*
For now, the PV servo is still working.. I've been using castrol. well, it was less than RM15 per liter..Guess i have to change the habit..

Last time i change the valve rod(i think the one near the piston), oil seal, and the plastic thing. Couple days i ride about 150kilos, the plastic melts and i change the new one together with the seal (under warranty). then after weeks, the oil spills again. I start to see tiny black dots couple days back and i keep riding til today. The pomen say my block is still good, its a y-1. I can stand if i have to change the valve twice a year but not twice a month. I cost me about Rm 160.

I have one question to asked, if my rpm straight away rise to max but not lenear with the speed, does this has something to do with the clutch plate.

help me anyone, dont have knowledge yet about tzm.. my last ride was 125z but the chassis crack since my first ever accident where i hit the lorry. thankgod i have not even one scratch.

Suggest use semi-synthetic 2T.

Engine temperature ok when you ride? Coolant use malaysia made one, don't get those UK import. Not suitable for us. Fill up the reserve with coolant also.

Looks like your engine has overheat problem.

If you spend that much, should be using original parts. Make sure mechanic ok one. Plastic pulley should not melt that easily.
When you change, what is the item that is damaged?

About clutch, when you pull throttle to 5k rpm and let go for pick-up, does the bike follow? If it does, it's alright. If bike doesn't follow, then clutch slip liao. What 4T you use? Don't use car engine oil. You should feel the pickup even if the speed don't linear.

Where you from? I'm in Penang.

Realy2 thankful for that quick reply, must be 2 stroker to reply that quick i guess hehe...

Ok... the thing that damaged was plastic thing and seal.. maybe the workshop was supplied with cheap pulley (but they sell it for 20++, cant remember). First time i change, it didnt melt, it break. Its hard because they all looks the same.

Ive been using Total synthetic oil and i change it every 1000-1500 kilos. About the servo, is there some kind of precise setting(like main jet) or just make sure it tight at opening and closing. Let say if i operate the stomach of the exhaust, will it be better? My exhaust pipe was YY Pang mari and it didnt sound good. I think the best sound is either small tube AHM and Original one....

So you are from penang, Im in Kuala Lumpur, call me Man and i listen to Lacuna Coil....

Problems with bushing? How is the quality of the modification? Original bush cannot use ah?
Original sportrim also 18inch, hard to find good tyre. You wanna try TZM rims? Width 2.50.

The pulley may crack if overtighten. Try to use a wide area washer next time to avoid this.

PV servo, if you have allen-key and a few size 10 wrench to DIY, you can open PV pulley cover. Leave the key in "off" position.
On the pulley, you should see a hole on the pulley, and it should align to a hole on the engine block behind the pulley. Adjust the top offset screws that connects the PV servo to the pulley. Make sure pulley cable just tight enough. Turn on the ignition and watch pulley sweep. If the hole align again, you're good.

Exhaust - I stick to original. Yamaha PV need the original exhaust to perform at its best, since TZM is a de-tuned from racing bike. Operate YYPang will give you low torque at low end RPM... hard to ride a bike like that. Check the end can and silencer, make sure got fibre... or remove them if you don't like.

Sape tu Lacuna Coil? I'm still in nirvana times...

Sorry not sure...

lacuna coil? italian band that rock.. makes me forget metallica, iron maide for a while... Nirvana?? for life haha...

Thanks for the advice.. iLL check it as soon as i got time.. you seems knoledgeable on bike... still confuse bout the pulley but see what i can do..

Bout the ekzos, i will..(when time comes) change to ori.. thumbup.gif

for thousands of miles, harley never care to put liquid cooled engine since they have a good fins design on their block. Maybe liquid cooled would do better for hi-rev but if ride slo steady... Since the birth of v-rod, the tend to put liquid cooleed which explains the reason why.

Aye??

Added on July 8, 2009, 4:43 pmdear guys, a need some opinion on Tzm's exhaust. i am plannig to put the ahm racing because it sound like 125cc moto GP motorcycle. which will offer better performance and fuel saving, is it the original stock exhaust or the racing one..

I assume good quality PV pulley is used, and 2T flow is ok.
Also, if PV installation not right, the PV jam and the bike will overheat melting anything along the way.
Is exhaust clogging with dead oil?
*
Thanks! thumbup.gif .. never thought of dat bfore. My exhaust was and always wet.. Its hard to find a good mechanic working on this vintage these day... ayte..(bcause lastime one mechanix assemble my pv upside down and it hard to reach even 100 rclxub.gif )
Something dat i notice.. when a PV' allignment gone wrong, it will gives a headache sound of exhaust... I still got a lot to learn icon_question.gif on this bike..

dear TZM'ers.. last time i change my power valve, i noticed 2 parts are not installed before this time which the small spring and the small nut. Is it possible that these 2 parts are the reason for the valve to always leak and brok because last time i change it, it never leak even when i rembas 140-150 non stop along the highway for hours.

Thank you.....

yo all the bikers here, am gonna get B Full license very soon, and i'm thinking which bike should i go for. i'm now driving a 280hp car. and the choices in my mind is the ninja 250r, kawasaki er-6n, naza hyosung GT650R, R6 and ZX-6R for my first bike. which 1 would you guys prefer?
*
Once you know the limit of 250, u wont be satisfied with it cause 2 stroker can beat the 250 unless its the 250RR (4 piston).. er-6? hyosung 650? ermm i dont think so.. ull get a limited power out of the bike. I would recommend you R6 and ZX-6 for a start. At least there are more power to be discovered before you properly mastered it. Since 250 is one of your choice,i say get yourself a bigger superbike and not naked. They are actually different in power and performance.javascript:emoticon('')

yo bro. thanks for the answer. no not hyosung 650. is the Kawasaki ER-6N. check it out, seems great for beginner. R6 or ZX-6R for start? i heard some ppl says it good too but wont it be too much power for beginner? first gear already can reach 100km/h+.  hmm.gif
*
yep... too much but you know, taking Bfull license can already learn the power of big cc machine.. Learning with 750 cruiser does tell the power. If im not mistaken, kawa's 650 (2 cylinder) naked can only reach 200++ but the full fairing superbike (4 cylinder) like Zx-6 can go for 260++. check the specs first. Plus, the sound is gives more satisfaction especially when you pay A LOT. 2 cylinder n 4 cylinder have a different sound. Except for the Ducati's, they are the italian, they sounded like a ferrari. For example.. if you were riding the er-6 and got beaten by aprllia 125, mito, or worst, old TZM.. hehe.. didnt mean to gives a big talk, even i didnt have any superbike yet.. (but my Bfull ihave is for Harley Davidson).. Actually, if you want the exact answer on what you really need, go to retailer and talk to the salesman yourself. Ive did that and they gives me tons (not that much but still) of tips.. Good luck with your findings!! .............................ride hard.......................ride proud.............................. rclxm9.gif

hye guys. i wonder if there's any thread for the old nouvo classic. i mean the 1st nouvo model. since i've tried googling and all i found were mostly on nouvo s. or izzit this bike was totally outdated?
*
Maybe due to its appeareance that didnt show any sign of classic. But for me, its a stepping stone for what we see today.. I did see some cool nouvo with fierce stripes. Maybe dat will do..

guys, 135LC still targeted by the thieves ? I am considering buying bike of 125-150cc. For daily use of communiting 120 km per day. 60km go office 60 km back home.

I need fast and low maintenance cost bike

Is these bikes ok ? :
Modenas 128 GT
Honda Wave 125 S
yamaha lagenda ??
*
60 come 60 go.. We share the same effort in living. Right now im using a TZM and comfortable with the performance although it require constant maintenance and repair, but that not the point. U need something that wont stress your engine everyday while traveling at some speed.. I would recommend FZ or CBR 150 but for your everyday satisfaction and morale to travel, go for 150 ninja.. Its new and suit your needs.. icon_rolleyes.gif
