I have something to share with you guys. Last week on the 28th of September i bought a Yamaha 125ZR (Black) brand new from a bike shop. On Wednesday this week, the 2t reservoir leaks and i took it to Yamaha Service Center. Upon inspection, they found out that my 125ZR is in fact not 125ZR but instead a converted 125Z where the bodykit was changed and sport rims slapped on.
I was furious, e-mailed Yamaha, and seek legal advice. Yamaha supported me to go forward with a tribunal case against the bike shop, and everything is prepared to go ahead if they couldn't settle the matter before the tribunal. The shop owner called me still in denial but offered a peace settlement with replacing the fake 125ZR with a new 125ZR. I accepted the offer and now i got the real 125ZR.
Well, i hope i my story would help you guys better prepared against this type of con cases. The thing worth nothing are that, slap on stickers are no match for factory stickers, and rims tampering are certainly noticeable.
The shop is located in Penang, near Jelutong Police Station. A few shoplots next to it to be precise.
