OMG... my bike going to cost me too.... maybe full tank is around RM 10 for Ex5. Last time i still remember in early 90's, one litre only cost RM 1 ringgit and when i pay RM 4... my bike already full tank.

Kaizzya ... changing oil depends on your milage . Better oil you dont need to change until you reach around 3000KM. Best if you could change your oil every 2000KM. If you want extra protection for your engine, adding some oil treatment into the crankshaft might help your engine life span last longer.
what i would recommend you to use is the splitfire (shown below) It cost around RM 20. |

please reminded that 4th gear is to save money ! the ratio is for cruising. I have change the gearbox ratio in my machine , and due to that... fuel consumption is higher. ( by 1 liters ) means that 4 liters last time can go 200km now 3 liters can only go 200km. This is an example only. I only want to point out that changing gear box ratio make the bike go faster but again fuel consumption will be increased. City riding is fine, but long distance you going to feel the difference in fuel !

i used to use this light also. My friend gave it to me... i think quite cheap only. just put positive and negative then you can get the strobe light. if you fix the wires to your brake light.. then when you press the brake the strobe light will on.
Last time i fix i put in a switch. When at night i only use it. put inside white board. Ipoh guys love to play like this last time. |

Cloud9Nos3 what else you did ? CDi ? original one ? entake valve and ex. valve got touch ?
my recommedation if you want cheap... get the Cj ipoh pipe. dont get the cone type. get the straight pipe one.. more power. If you want best... use your original one and mod it . why use low cam ? you send 'potong' yourself ? Just buy S4 racing cam good enough already. Low cam must go with low rocket arm. Actually can use the stock rocket arm .. .but not so good only. all the best. |

It depends on your setting. Not to say low cam is not good. If you play with S4 cam... easier to tune up ! intake & ex valve hole have to polish up a bit to get more power. Rocker arm is to push the tappets that pushes the valves (intake & ex)
i bet there is allot of 'sifu' there in Kelantan that can help you allot. Some more you can get allot of those damn good racing products there in your district because Thailand is not far from there only. |

Izzulogy dont get TZM by all means. Allot of problem. One day you will regret by spending on maintenance. Power valve always give problem, water pump area there also giving problem. The stupid gear cost around Rm 70 ( Original ) . I fix the bike until fed up. This 2 things are the MAIN things that always give problem !
What i do suggest is that you get Kawasaki or Honda. Kips or NSR or KRR edited: TZM bodykit only nice to see...maintenance you shall suffer ! This post has been edited by wevilli: Sep 11 2008, 12:26 AM |

Cloud9Nos3 no need to use 57mm block. Then later your engine wont balance. What i m telling you that you can use 57mm but not so good. UNLESS you balance back the crankshaft. With 53mm you also will get top speed up to 160kmj. The trick is in the combustion system.
Bigger bore make the engine heat up more. Of course you get more power. But without proper balancing... your engine will feel too light.. no drag feel because the crankshaft is not balanced. So just stick to 53mm is enough. you from Kelantan right ? so... as mentioned earlier, allot of people there in your hometown know how to do mod. If not... just get bigger bike, then you can go faster. |

QUOTE(hieroplant @ Sep 15 2008, 03:08 AM) you can buy racing boy , kingfly or coming comstar . These brands are quite reliable. If you buy those cheap ones... not so good as the bearing sleeve/guide give soon give way. |

Need more clarification of where is the sound coming from. want to ask some sifus here my ex5 engine sound when idling is like 'goreng kacang' what problem is this ? valve ? The sound is from tear and wear due to aged engine ? or is it just service and you having the sound ? |

QUOTE(-DaRReN-C- @ Sep 26 2008, 08:12 PM) erm....i've sent to workshop for overhaulnot long ago then got this sound, then i send back but they said they adjust my valve loose abit wor, so got sound ok... try to send back for valve clearance tuning 1st. If the sound still same... could be your mounting on the flywheel where the bearing seat on . This is a rough estimation only since i cant really see the matter here. If you are using C3 bearings on your crankshaft also will result in the matter.they said it doesnt matter 1 then that day i go to change tyre in the motor w'shop nearby my house and they said 'wah your engine goreng kacang already lo, have to overhaul it' i was thinkin like 'wtf ? i just overhaul my motor |

lower the front fork make the motor more stiffer. If you use your motor mostly on the road then should be fine. If off road then might be too bumpy ! Then fork will hit the fork arm. Because the length of the shock to absorb the tension is reduced.
with 80/90 tires, should be no problem. Unless you are using 110/100. if you want to lower the fork... my advice is add more hydraulic oil to both the front fork. Why ? It is to prevent the dront fork to hit the fork arm. Please be remind after doing this... the front suspension will be stiff ! not so comfortable on bumpy roads. But on high speed or when come to cornering the bike will be much stable. recommended hydraulic oil is Motul factory line ( FULLY SYNC ) . |

guys.. have you tried GIVI box on 140km/j ? damn.... my ex5 hardly touch the floor ! Damn dangerous ! The recommended speed on the GIVI box was only 100km/j !
On top of it... i do feel the bike is slower because of the restriction of the GIVI ! No choice... i have to use it due to everyday traveling to work. Easy for me to put my rain coat and other stuff inside it. what about you guys ? do you think the givi box restrict your acceleration and speed ? edited : sorry ... the actual recommended speed on the give box is 110km/j..... typo error !
