So i received a call from Maxis, telling me that they want to give a free phone due for being good paymaster bla bla. and the catch is i cant terminate my contract for 24 months.

the phone is midrange Samsung M12 (if i remember correctly).

I was thinking to just give it to my mother, however she is under celcom.

my question, can this free phone be use with celcom sim card? does anyone have experience with it?

heard about maxis device guard or something, like it will be there in the phone by default. will this affect the usability?

It’s a free phone u can use it with any telco. I’ve claim before to replace my moms phone too no issue

Free for the 1st 3mths but have to pay 4th month afterwards if you don’t call Maxis to terminate it.

Honestly never heard of that, but last time the device was brand new and sealed. Didn't see any Maxis logo during boot as well.

And from that page, it's only applicable for all Google Android devices sold on Maxis Zerolution to Consumer and Business Individual customers.

Yes, but always be reminded that been tied down on contract itself is actually worth about RM400-800.

Getting a low end phone at the cost of tied down for another 2 years of contract (worse if your plan is overfilled/overpriced) may not be the best choice everytime.

I think you should be paying rm100 monthly for service that's worth 40 to 50?

actually im paying RM78 for a service thats worth RM98.

under corporate plan. plus i can claim it from my company. so no harm taking the phone right?

everyone usage requirement is different.
let's say you need 30gb + unlimited call

the plan is worth rm35 then from digi prepaid

digi postpaid is then rm200 for 3 lines of unlimited


can claim company then can claim home internet sekali?

Yes claim company don’t care just take it. It’s free phone consider you are paying monthly charges ( with or without phone it’s the same price just that u have a 24 month contract )

few month ago maxis also call me for my hotlink postpaid...
i reject cos i want to reduce my spending as this hotlink is just backup number for gaming..>.>
