Nice detail. Just be aware that the eyes must be in focus to pop out the object where photo #1 is out.

Gundam Wing, I would say your overall composition is fine. i guess you just need a better lens. Maybe it's time to save for a 100mm macro lens? or 150mm if you can afford.

great bugs.. to me, it's very scary indeed to take the praying mantis with 3-5cm distance, imagine it flies and stop on my face..
