as you already know the basics, now find some simple songs that you really like to play and are really familiar with. learn it slowly. as a beginner go with strumming songs 1st. example:

bryan adams - back to you

these 2 songs are good for chord shifting and strumming patterns. it can be tricky, but it's fun. remember, patience is the key. you may get stuck trying to get the strumming rhythm or chord changing. that's why you need practice. learning guitar is not a few months job. it'll take years.

then, watch many guitar videos to see how people perform some techniques. books don't help on techniques, you need to see how it's done.

i've been a self learner since '96. so i should know what i'm talking about. laugh.gif. now, i got a few dozen songs under my arsenal.
