Thanks for review, what if mi12 pro? I'm noob in phone tech.. Just wish to have long period use.
*
My wife have mi 10. I don't really recommend mi brand for long period use.

I still remember few months after she use the phone, after going through ota update, the device not able to boot up. At the end go lowyat service centre and they reset the phone.

The technician advise not to update during that time....... The miui itself is buggy and the mi device don't have proximity sensor.

That's y the phone sometimes turn on itself from off screen status because mi is using what they call virtual proximity sensor (software solution and no hardware).

Her device now after off then super long time to turn on back. If you only looking for flagship below 4k then Sammy s22, oneplus 10t, iPhone 13/14, realme gt 2 etc etc.

If u can wait and want Android I suggest you wait for new phone with 8+ gen 1 soc instead. That 1 is more power efficient and better thermal control than 8 gen 1. Out of those device I listed above, only oneplus 10t using this soc. 8 gen 1 chip by Samsung cannot pakai 1

Want to get mi12 in cheaper price
Btw can mi12 upgrade to android 13?
*
If you don't mind 8 gen 1 then probably 1212 is your good chance to get it cheaper.

Based on https://www.google.com/amp/s/xiaomiui.net/x...eady-36210/amp/ here is yes it will be getting android 13 on miui 13

Miui 14 wise probably next year 2nd quarter or later due to mi 12 global build is not in the list here https://www.google.com/amp/s/xiaomiui.net/m...list-33363/amp/ . Surprisingly only china build are getting miui 14 first while global build only xiaomi 13 and the t series are getting it first.

Hopefully can get it for 2500 for 12+256 Malaysia set, hahaha
*
Probably can or close to. Unfortunately mi 13 launch was delayed otherwise I think the price will be lower.

bro, just check with you 8G RAM enough for daily use?

I might opt for 8G RAM version if it is enough
*
For now should be enough. I am using the 12t pro with 12gb ram, here I attach the system ram usage with and without background app for your reference.

I think mi 12 should be more or less in term in system ram usage as both are on miui 13 now. If you buy the 8gb ram variant they should come with 8gb+3gb extension by default where it occupy the storage to boost ram.

In my case I off the 12gb+3gb cos I don't need it. With 8+3 I think will be enough at least for few years.

cheapest price i found now is 2389 for 8+256 version
*
I found 1 in shopee https://shopee.com.my/product/31999900/1743...44-1670467959.9

After rebate 10% is 2299 but I didn't heard of this seller before. For me I prefer lazada when buying something expensive cos the return everything is much easier.

I think the offering should be below 2.5k for most of the seller. Just have to make sure the 1 u buy Malaysia official set with 2 years warranty and not china set.

Official set got better after sales service just in case anything go wrong.

is it worth to switch to Mi 13 from Mi 12 haha ?
*
Lol depend on the price. 8 gen 1 Chip that's in mi 12 really not good. Higher battery consumption, very hot when gaming and throttling issue during heavy load. That's why I get the 8+ gen 1 by tsmc instead.

If you didn't really gaming, don't mind on 8 gen 1 and wanna get an aluminum body plus wireless charging then mi 12 might be a good option

Xiaomi 13 with 8 gen 2 I suppose the price should be above 3.5k and it might be only arriving Malaysia Q1 2023. By then u have other option from OnePlus with 8 gen 2 as well

Ic. Unfortunately this seller didn't participate in lazada bonus event or else it will be cheaper.

Side story the xiaomi 13 images available online seem interesting https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_13_launch_r...-news-56802.php

I guess they will launch ceramic back, leather back and glass back version. There are even Leica brand there, probably it will cost over 4k. The blue leather back look interesting

thanks for the reply brother, yes I heard OnePlus also not that bad. have you heard before Infinix? I don't think is that popular in Malaysia but looks quite good for the price.
*
Infinix I haven't heard about then till u mentioned it. Seem like their offering mainly mid to low range.

The risk for unpopular phone brand is on the update and support. No comment on this for Infinix cos I didn't have any experience with them.

order mi12 for my wife done
previously she use mi10, last time mi10 only cost 2000
*
So fast? Why not wait for 1212, probably can get a better deal then. Xiaomi 13 have the same size as mi 12, why not get it for your wife instead.

Lol I guess your wife like the phone because of the size, my wife is also using mi 10 and she complaining the device too big. She tried mi 12 and found the size is up to her preference.

Not buying if the price exceed 4k

For CN side their pro 8, 256 is 5399 rmb (3.6k myr) while non pro 8,256 (2866) is 4299rmb. Normally Malaysia set price will be higher than CN and probably come with 2 years warranty locally similar to previous flagship here.

For 8, 256 probably it will cost around 3299 for their non pro and 3999 to 4299 for pro. The highlight I think is ip68 across the range, gorilla victus, miui 14 (with much less bloatware as what they claim) and Leica lens even for non pro variant. Their blue leather seem very good according to the video demo, not sure how is the real thing though.

Seem like pro is better deal that come with ltpo, ceramic back, 120w wired & better camera and size. Non pro wise I think is suitable for those who want smaller and lighter phone (below 200g).

Anyway have to see how they position the price in Malaysia and whether they will bundle some pre order gift during launch to determine is it a good value or not.

For more info can refer to GSMArena https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_13_and_13_p...-news-56834.php. I personally find the blue and ceramic green probably will look good but how is it have to wait for demo unit to be available then only can know.

A gap of about rm500 between China set and Malaysian set ? If that is the case, there will be lots of china set in Malaysia.
*
Not really, people will still go for Malaysia set. 2 years warranty (normally for xiaomi flagship) plus less hassle for 5g and better after sales service centre access.

Malaysia price
My guess
Non pro rm2999 and above
Pro rm3899 and above
*
The non pro offering look good. Just I don't like they try to copy previous fruit phone

A lot of review already out. https://youtu.be/uXExzWOQ7Ag this is the 1 with blue leather back. The colour look quite good.

I think pricing should be similar to Xiaomi 12 launch price.

Hopefully they bundle good item for pre order.
*
Most probably is their old buds or watch, extended warranty etc etc. This is what they always do.

Estimate from previous xiaomi 12 launch price, 8+256gb sold at China rmb 3999 but malaysia sold at rm2999.

Therefore I believe the lowest version 8+128gb that selling at China rmb 3999 as well will be selling at same price rm2999.

However prepare to wait till March than only the phone will arrive to Malaysia. Last time xiaomi 12 launch at 28 Dec 2021, but arrive to Malaysia at 15 March...
*
I think probably they will sell the 8+256 at 3299 or 3399. Nowadays 128gb is not enough. Ya probably around March next year, have to see what they offer for preorder here then only can say whether is good deal or not.

2 years warranty should be a norm already considering lately all their flagship or sub flagship are getting the extended 1 year warranty. Their advantage is got a lot of product and they can simply bundle some to make it look attractive.

Those free gift retail at 599 etc etc might cost as low as 100 for them

This, I don't know why it took so long to launch when previously it was just a month before a Redmi or Xiaomi phone would launch in Malaysia. For me, sort of regretting getting the Xiaomi 12 as the Xiaomi 13 Pro is looking very interesting. However, since I bought during the pre-order and I received extra warranty and soundbar, I am not complaining  laugh.gif .

Might get the Xiaomi 13 Pro if the price is good enough for me.

See what they offer this round. I find the non pro variant more interesting, compact, powerful and easy to hold

So far what I don't like is it look like ifone and only 67w for non pro variant.
