They still have the best bang for buck in terms of hardware to price in their midrange segment, but I’m not so sure they have what it takes to compete in the premium segment. MIUI is a love-it-or-hate-it affair, their updates are not consistent and tend to have lots of bugs and you do get some inconsistencies in their hardware occasionally like their proximity sensor, FP reader, etc coz they tend to use cheaper parts. Their Poco and Redmi Note series phones still have the best overall value for certain users, but beyond that, I agree with you completely - they aren’t as appealing as before.
