What they mentioned above is correct, check with the management first. If extension is allowed, normal Majlis approval is still required.

I just went through it recently.

Normally is chicken and egg story.

Mgmt will ask owner to get approval from majlis.

Majlis will say is up to mgmt decision.

How many jmb or mc wants to shoulder additional responsibilities other than required by law, otherwise many strata problems would resolved.

Can convert to store room also. Removed the fittings and no whatever hacking.

why want get a strata unit when u plan to reno your facade/extension.
anyway, check with MO first.

not sure what sort of extension, strata title house, you cannot change the colour, the grill must be the same, cannot modified outlook

if involved tearing down a wall, you better inform MO, there may involve structure damage

No tearing down a wall, just decided to remove the sink and toilet bowl..

No management yet since the building is still under construction so thought of having feedbacks from you guys..

as long as no structural damage I dont see a problem inside unit renovation, to be safe, just check with your MO.

Seal the sewage and waste water discharge hole properly. Otherwise the smell and cockroach can enter you unit.

Unfortunately the condo is still under construction and we're deciding purchase it but this particular toilet is really small and felt we could use the space as storage

Not possible to change during the construction. If you change, later all other buyers will demand the same. It will lead to a mess & eventually a lot of answering to Local Authority on the deviation from the Building Plan Approval. No way the Architect will allow you do amendment with the risk of the CCC being at risk.

Ah yes ofcourse, what I meant was there’s no management now so i won’t be able to ask.. and it’s kind of a deal breaker for us if not we would pick other floor plans but seems like it’s ok if we just remove the sink and toilet bowl..

Thanks everyone for sharing their thoughts and info. Looks like is all down the management of the strata title. Better to ask first before buying the house.

Some landed strata places like townhouse even the AC position also fixed.. it must look boring and uniform throughout. Best to ask first as some follow like condo style nothing should be added to change the facade.
Later the type of grass you can grow in the garden, also mandated by their "HOC laws" (its a bane in the US)..

Its good to have uniform looking houses geh..IMO
this eliminate all the ghetto looking extensions and zinc roof porch that make it look like wannabe shacks outside factories in Jakarta.
