2nd pict... top right corner.. faded... or blocked?

Good point.
For the first one, I'm using the longest focal length, but the distance between the river and dragonfly was not far enough to create a nice bokeh background. It's only 30mm or even less. And I choose to use F8 because I want to ensure as much as the dragonfly is in focus.

The second one, the dark corner is actually trees. The lighting is harsh at 12noon, so it creates a lots of ugly shadow. The original was even worst. I got to do quite some post process to bring out the color and improve the contrast.
