Bought a Dell U3219Q 32” 4K, today arrived! wub.gif

Before..Dell U2515H 25” 2K as main monitor, LG 27” 4K as 2nd monitor

Retire the 27” LG, hard to calibrate and dim af compared to Dell monitors

Recalibrating both display (using the MacBook display as reference and my eyeballs)

After..32” 4K as main, 25” 2K as 2nd monitor

Some notes:

32” 4K running on native resolution without scaling is a bit tiny on macOS (arm length from monitor)..but plenty of screen estate for multitasking
IMO it looks like sitting in front of a TV at arm length

TB3 -> displayport >>>>> USB-C -> displayport
Mac mini 2018 doesn’t play nice thru USB-C
MBP M1 works fine via USB-C, but later I noticed that I can see the screen slightly flickering (TB3->DP no problem)

Monitor KVM is great, can switch between the Mini and MBP easily

Sekian, my home office upgrade

i used to look at 4 monitors too for forex trading before i learned AI and programming. Now just automate my trading. 32k dell is 4.7k. really ex. I have a 32" 2560x1440 only 1.2k and 43" 4k only 2.5k . but yours is infinity screen. but response time 5ms not good for gaming. Not sure but I thought I have seen 4k 32" with response time 1-2 ms. think its the sg company monitor

32" 1440p so pixelated no? the 25" 1440p is perfect IMO. how's the 43" on 4K from arm length? what's the scaling?

ah, I don't game, just work stuff and basic usage, so the extra response time isn't too important. mainly as long it's IPS, I'm happy

I don't understand people who use tenkeyless keyboards. Do you not have to deal with numbers at all in your life?
*
I do numbers but I don't like numpads laugh.gif

plus its a HHKB layout, plus it works better as a Mac keyboard

what is your desk size? i am looking to buy new desk...current desk is too small for dual monitors
*
my desk is actually more than 2m long x 60cm laugh.gif wife takes the left side, my side is 150cm x 60

32" 4K with MacOS level of scaling and no subpixel antialiasing support.. seem like a downgrade..
*
yes, ideally should set to 3360x1890 HiDPI scaling
but at the moment I want to test whether I can work with the 100% scaling laugh.gif

noice, i am still using U2515H too since 2015

great display over the years
*
yes, my favourite monitor after so many years (6 years+ monitor)..
during COVID-19 2020, I went back to MY and forgot to turn off my monitor, end up I stuck in MY one year, my monitor 24/7 on max brightness for one year until I went back to JP laugh.gif
luckily the monitor still fine till today, just need to recalibrate the color a little

Why waste money on this monitor?

Samsung having promo the new odyssey 4k g7 monitor g70a 144hz g sync resresh is only 2.3k.
*
don't like Samsung monitor, especially any gaming themed product

can't justify an XDR display for now, so ultrasharp series is my to go

wah gila i think it wouldve burnt out by then

this makes me so skeptical to upgrade my monitor, cause its already so good that theres no reason to upgrade to any current? doesnt seem to have huge defining features to justify
*
yea, I was actually quite surprised it was still running fine after such abuse laugh.gif hopefully can last another 5+ years, no plan to retire yet

tbh, if the monitor is still ok and u are used to the sharpness of the text on 25" 1440p, no need for upgrade unless u are really in need a lot of screen estate.

I felt that going bigger (not 27") with the same 1440p kinda view would be best
best if the pixel per inch is similar or higher than the U2515H (117 ppi)? for e.g. U3219Q is at 140 ppi

the dilemma for someone trying to update but cant find anything worthy haha

yeah i was considering an Omen 27" 1440p but 165Hz to try out high refresh rate over color accuracy, but still couldnt pull trigger cause its like 1.7k ughh
*
27" on 1440p u get less ppi, no?

so far still surviving laugh.gif waifu came over to JP last year, had to move out of my cheap room and search for a new place.
was blessed that I managed to find a nice detached house with garden and small shed in a really nice neighbourhood in less than 2 weeks

view in front of the house in winter, look nice but spent a lot of time clearing snow
