Anyone using acgas cooking cylinder? Interested to get one as it is safer. But, wanted to know if the service is good, especially when need to exchange the empty cylinder with a filled one.

I’m curious to know what makes this safer? Are our regular steel cylinders unsafe or did not go thru certification and testing?

They look shiny new and all but I’m skeptical about this tech?

Generally, all cooking gas cyclinder irrespective of brands are safe. If at all an explosion happens is because of a faulty regulator and or the stove.

Any feedback on this acgas?

planning to get one as it is lighter and safer, less likely to explode in a fire.
But their agents all quiet when whatsapp.

Not many dealers around.

When you buy the gas you have no control over the cylinder they use. All gas cylinders used by gas companies are safe. Just forget about it.

I managed to get one from an agent from a neighbouring 'territory'.

A bit heavier than I expect at full tank. I can just about carry it with one hand to the kitchen. Wife can just lift it, cant carry.
And the tank is 'fatter' but shorter.

Where I live gas delivery is unreliable. So will use this as spare tank and for the dapur goreng2 outside, since it is rust resistant.

Gas price is as standard when exchange empty tank, i was told. The first downpayment is double that of normal steel tank, one off. but delivery charge is bit expensive though. Maybe bcos quite far distance in my case.

I can attest to the safety of the regular steel tanks.
Had gas leak last week... serious scary shit went down. Fire came out from the regulator part. One of the scariest few minutes...luckily managed to put it out.

Aftermath, the regulator, hose and the plastic disc on the tank melted somewhat. Didn't explode. No secondary fire. Singed my hands...in the process, but, that's about it.

Replaced the regulator...was really apprehensive...but, yea...the tank is ok. It really was the regulator issue.Attached Image

So, by your experience just the weight benefit?
How much was it exactly? For the whole downpayment, delivery and exchange (later)?
I will try to use petronas gas app delivery for my next time, just for the experience. No issue with the current provider.
All that said, i almost want to go induction only after my recent gas scare.

So far ok.
Using it for my 2nd dapur outside at back.
Need to be light so wifey can move it aside to access the cabinet sometimes. also rust resistant, can withstand the dampness. And good looking.....ceria sikit dapur.

They hv promotion until end of month. I got for RM145.
Exchange should be at govt controlled rates, same for all tanks.
Problem will be with delivery, network is still small.

Technically LPG tank will only explode under two known conditions, both very rare to happen.
More often it is gas leak, mixed with air, collect a lot, then ur fridge compressor kicks in and produce a spark, and kaboom.

I sometime worry looking at the condition of those steel tanks, and the way they are handled bcos so heavy. Knock here n there, may damage the valve. Hopefully this one better.

TQ. I will get my parents a unit very soon.

This is a dead-serious no-bullshit sharing:

Was visiting parents and washing up my coffee mug at the kitchen sink before I left for the airport. I smelled a bit of gas. Immediately went to the gas tank and daubed soapy water at the valve and regulator area. The valve of the tank was leaking..a few soapy bubbles appeared there. Rinsed my hands and yelled at my dad to open the front door. I disconnected the regulator, grabbed the tank and ran to the garden. Put the gas tank in the middle of the garden and ran back in to open all the kitchen windows and door to the back yard.

My dad phoned the gas delivery man, and to his credit he arrived within 10 minutes. My aged parents could not smell the gas; their sense of smell had deteriorated over the years. The delivery man grumbled at us, asking why use up about half a tank before complaining about the leak. I told him It started leaking very suddenly and if he didn't want to replace it, I'll pay for a new full tank. As we spoke, the gas tank let out a loud FFFSSSHHHHHH and the valve flew off, emptying the tank very fast. Delivery man stopped grumbling and gave us a new tank. I did the soapy water test in the new tank at least 5 or 6 times before bringing it into the house.

Had I left for the airport a little bit earlier, I think my parents would have been in danger. Till today I get gooseflesh thinking about that narrow escape. Gas leak alarms are available in Shopee, and I urge all to use them. A bit of money spent for safety is well-worth it.
