We have been using a cheap water filter and change the filter from time to time, we also cook the water again to be safe for drinking. Untill one day our electric kettle died, and we are thinking should be get a better water filter that is safe for drinking without cooking or should we apply from famous water purifier company like cuckoo, coway but the monthly rental is ranging from 80-180 per month, so exp for just water, is not like they are paying our water bill also.... We grow up with cheap water filter and early year without filter at all, just cook and drink. So, is it even necessary?

Boiled water is the best. Don't be a pussy. Our parent/grandparent have lives without those filters for years, no problem pun.

just keep using activated carbon filter with boiling. heat is nature's way to keep life in check. those coway, my way, highway, milky-way or noway all rely on either filters or UV to kill bacteria. If there are manufacturing defects in filter or suddenly UV lights went off, you won't know.
Boiling is always reliable.

Water purifiers are for convenience, for a price.
Filtering and boiling does the same job.

I still use filter and boil method to this day.
Water from coway for me have a hard/sharp taste to it. Even my 6 years old son didn't like drinking coway water.

It is a must. You will be shock to see the total sludge in your unfiltered water. Sumore i personally have trust issue regarding the contaminants in water especially toxic metals. . KV water also always got someone nice put perfume lah every now and then.
Got carbon filter okay lah than nothing. Best is to get ultra filtration one. Mineral loss? Nahh. Its just gimmick take dietary mineral not air mineral laahh.. too tiny the amount.
Get the few hundred ringgit will do the job lah.
