Maxis has just replaced my tplink router with a huawei router (LG8245X6-10). When i try to configure the DDNS on this new router, it keeps tell me "Service Not Available. Check the DNS Domain Service". I am not sure what could be the issue. But i've confirm that my username and password and domain name is correct. and the domain "smilespharmacy2.ddns.net" is pingable as well. Can someone enlighten me what needs to be checked or edit?

Another issue could be private vs public ip.

If u get private, cannot connect to Ddns.

i'm not sure on this. but the previous maxis router doesnt need to set port forward in order to setup the ddns. and also its not a private ip.else no point to setup ddns since it is already static? Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Private is not static.

Private means ur ip hide behind another public ip

Meaning to say from your modem , there is another router( from maxis part) before the World Wide Web

If public ip means ur modem is directly to the www.

I not sure if maxis got offer public ip or not.

Call Maxis support team. Having the same issue too. Make the complaint (told them I'm unable to setup DDNS on the new router for my CCTV connections), and the support did something at their end, then the problems were fixed after that.

I got the same router from maxis. the first one had some problems and they replaced another one.

now i have 2 LG8245X6. one of it is LG8245X6-10. not sure what the 10 is for.

I'm trying to mesh them but just couldn't. there's not much of information out there. I find the attached document and it didn't help. Attached File  WiFi_6_EasyMesh_LG_8245_X6_Manual.pdf ( 461.94k ) Number of downloads: 844

anyone have experience out there with this router?

When you said Maxis Huawei router, I presumed its those 4G Broadband router...

Maxis 4G are all running on Private IP Address that was assigned by Maxis own DHCP server.

Unless you are corporate/business account, you will have the chances of getting a Public IP Address but depending on the availability, you might get IPv6 instead of IPv4.

You can login to the router & check the WAN connection is using which IP Address then open a browser & Google for "Whatismyip" & make a comparison of both IP addresses. If both matches then you are in luck... that's the Public IP address.

If both doesn't match then you are using Private IP address instead & you must contact Maxis to request for a Public IP.

Not all Maxis 4G router have the capability to configure the DDNS inside the router or support the DDNS service you wanted to use, thus be prepare to install the update client in the computer instead. I've encountered a router that support the DDNS service but somehow the DDNS provider's server are not updated due to unsupported router model.

Hope this clarify & help.

In this case I'm fairly certain it is NOT a 4g router and is your typical wifi router.

It appears that Maxis is giving this Huawei router for 30Mbps and the Kaon one for 100 and up
As well as replacement for older customers with failed routers

Late reply but for those that's still looking for the admin login to your router. This should apply to any maxis provided router btw

user: administrator
pass: router serial number (copy the SN under the router exactly as it is written there capital letter and all if any)

Since it's from maxis, better call maxis support for help.
