Hi, i had just recently subscribed to the Maxis 300mbps fibre internet package recently with the free KAON AR2140 Wifi 6 Router..

Previously using normal AC2100 router with time internet 100mbps.. connecting my desktop with LAN cable..

Just having some questions and need some recommendations from yall sifus...

1. The Maxperts suggested me to take up the Maxis mesh wifi package bc he mentioned that the mesh wifi can be setup as a node inside my bedroom, then only connect the lan from the wifi mesh node to my desktop, and the speed will be almost the same. Is that true?

2. The maxperts mentioned that it's better to get the same KAON router as it's easier for setup and software toggling... etc, or better to have the 'easymesh' feature, is that true?

3. Is it possible for me to use a wifi 6 mesh router from another brand? any recommendation?

4. currently eyeing on the redmi AX3000 wifi 6 mesh router.. would it be any issues for setup in Malaysia since it's purchased from other region?(china)

Don't bother getting router from China. Those router had lower power limit to comply with Chinese regulations and there's no easy way to bypass it.

I see, is there any recommendations for wifi 6 router below 300 bucks in malaysia? or its more worthy to get the KAON AR2140 mesh wifi deal from maxis (total RM300)?

How big is your house? Single or multiple stories?
How big is your budget?
Any special requirements?

budget around 200-300
just wanna keep my wires minimum as my bro and i have each have a pc in our room so prefer to use lan...
so wanna avoid spanning the lan cable all the way from living room to bedrooms..

If you don't want to pull cable, might as well connect directly to the Kaon router and get yourself a Wifi 6 adapter on your computer. It's a financially terrible choice to get a node and connect your pc to it using cable.
