Hi, recently moving into my new house at Elegan Residensi, however, I have one concern which is that area doesn't have any ISPs so far, is it normal for new area to not have ISP? Even TM say they will only serve when more than 80% of the house owner agrees to sign-up internet with them. In the meantime how do I get internet access? How long is the process usually?

get the non-contract wireless broadband first, such as hotlink unlimited 365 (rm60 + rm5 for hotspot), unifi air (rm79),
while maxis/digi/celcom/umobile also got but with quota.

Does this means unifi air doesn't cover my area as well? Btw, this air only up to 20mbps?

new development already fiber friendly ready, unless the developer didnt provided the cable. its weird if u want to wait 80% sign ready. most people saw or know their neighbor have internet sure they will apply for it.
if wireless make sure u check the coverage then go register. usually take more than 2 hours or less (depend) for activation ...

Not I want to wait 80% sign ready is management tell us that no ISP is in this area yet, they do mentioned that fiber cables are ready but until 80% sign ready TM will not provide internet. I also asked alot of TM agents to check, they just feed back this area doesn't have service yet.

Since your residential building is still new, I would suggest you and your neighbors team up and advise the JMB of your building to block TM from coming in.

TNB Allo, Maxis, TIME or YTL will be ever happy to take their place anyday.

I'm surprised you're still hoping to get TM to supply fibre infra to your building?

Honestly I don't care which ISP comes in at this point. I'm just desperate for internet. Good advice I'll see what we can do with neighbors, thanks

Many indeed care about which internet provider serves their building infra. In fact, in places like Penang and KV if your building is served by TIME/Allo/Maxis/YTL your property has higher resale/rental value.
All but not TM.

Those who are internet savvy usually place which provider serves their building making it one of the main criteria when choosing to buy/rent.
