Hey Guys,

I'm going to TARUC study A level soon. First and foremost, I wonder about the quality of teaching at TARUC. I would also like to know how much the Double Math subject combination will cost. TBR and PV which will be better?

Not a TARUC Student.
But they did raised the price for A Level Program and made it less affordable compared to when I surveyed during 2015/16. Where it only costs less than RM 20k for their entire Science Stream program.

You may email or walkin to TARUC Campus and enquire via email cpus@tarc.edu.my

As of 2021 Feb,
a) 4 subjects with English General Paper (AS) - estimated RM 35,000
b) 3 subjects without English General Paper (AS) - estimated RM 29,000
Note: The above is just an estimation fee subject to Art or Science stream. Kindly submit your registration so that we can calculate the exact fees for you.

Does not include all those UK Exam Fees which costs like RM 300/AS or A2 sitting.

Fee Waiver due to excellent SPM results or equivalent:
- 50% discounts for 7As
- 60% discounts for 8As
- 70% discount for 9As

All Private Colleges normally accepts SPM with 5 Credits.
All private colleges and unis money oriented. laugh.gif

If you are doing A-levels because you either want to go for overseas or study locally in private, or some IPTA that accepts A-level Qualifications during UPUOnline.
Or pay FULL UNSUBSIDIZED TUITION FEES just to enroll into UM's degree.
Else, you go for STPM and suffer writing BM Essays for Pengajian Am.

In TARUC, you just have an option to suffer and write in English for GP tongue.gif
Not compulsory to be enrolled in University.

Further Mathematics will not be required for Engineering. shakehead.gif
You only need to know your basic Trigonometry, Vectors and Complex Numbers you cukup makan for Engineering School.

Also, University modules are very "MODULAR". Means you leant the knowledge after the semester over, you most likely not going to use it anymore. laugh.gif

Well, yes and no.

For A'levels - you need to choose an institution that the lecturers are very familiar with the A'Levels exams methods and style. That means that they can explain the past year questions and be able to guide you through that. So not only can they teach you well, they can also act as a tuition teacher of sorts and be able to get you prepared for your external papers.

Of course, students are expected to self-study a lot. But that extra helps a lot especially to score.

TARUC is fine btw. They are quite good in A-Levels.

Why not? SPM is a national-level examination and the passing grade is usually normalized and not a fixed standard. A-Levels is an external internationally graded examination with fixed (more or less) assessment methods. In other words, A Levels 4As students are consistent even when considering a period of 5-10 years of assessments. SPM 7As level and standards may be inconsistent over a period of 5-10years.

And even if you consider the notion of quality, there are other factors as to why someone who gets 7As+ at SPM might not get 4As at A'Levels. We cannot deal with absolutes in different examinations and assessments.

Just my two cents.

How bout ppl who get 9a* above in spm? - The same applies.

It's good that you take pride in studies and always wanting to maintain a certain standard. I wish we had more students who think like you do. Good Job!

blink.gif well alot of factors plays in. My batch and myself is a good example.
Got tons of IGCSE and SPM kids, all atleast 5-6 A/A* or A-/A/A+ ones, literally everyone has a scholarship in some form.

Some of them and including me have their scholarship dropped after the first semester, for not coping up with the internal assessments.
To be honest, attending tuition classes until A-Level is still necessary, if you start the struggling in the beginning of the semesters in A Level.

A lot of my friends resat their A-Levels after finishing College. Gotten Bs Cs, eventually resat every Subject gotten A/A*.
Some dropped out during before A2 exams starts.
Some of my friends, went to Foundation again after feeling it is not worth to pay RM 3k+ to resit A Level to fix their grades.

I personally gotten rubbish A Level results without an "A" in my overall results, despite holding 8As in my SPM.
Applied to a course of my interest, using the two most WORST performing subjects. Went to Local Private University, reworked my arse off again for 4 years, just to gain First Class Honours for PTPTN Exemption.
Missed enrolling into UM via SatuChannel because I missed 1C in my A Levels Maths laugh.gif

Anyhow, I will slap myself again for thinking doing 4 subjects in A Levels is necessary.
Would be happier doing subjects with the least reading time. Like not taking Biology.

Also there will be tons of emotional and environmental factors a teenager need to deal with from
- not doing well in class
- loosing a scholarship
- family issues, relationship issues or being home sick
- sudden lost of finance due to their parents lost their job
- personal/parents has health issues, i.e. someone suffered minor stroke, or undergo chemotherapy, being emotionally depressed and suicidal after emotional breakup
- being independent and responsible for yourself, living alone at the age of 15-17.

Really there are tons of shit, some teenagers have to go through, that you might not have experienced yet.

If you suffered from poor results in A-Levels, you might need to find a way to pick yourself up, re-evaluate careers and university choices and goals, if resitting A-levels is not an option.

To show that those are my replies to your question or else it would be confusing. It's how I usually reply my emails and all.

The response by you is kind of rude. There are better ways to clarify.
