Hi guys, do provide me with some guidance/opinions on selecting between these 2 air purifiers : DYSON Cool Formaldehyde TP09 or AMWAY Lombok III AP-1520C Will be moving into a newly renovated home (new paints, new built in cabinets, furnitures etc) hence is looking to invest in an air purifier which is efficient in eliminating VOC’s and formaldehyde. Seems like the new Dyson TP09 air purifier has got some really good reviews. Any users of the AMWAY air purifier here that’s able to give some input on the efficacy?

It'll be cheaper to exhaust the air out (change the air). I'm afraid that (due to the size of the unit) it may clog up the filter wastefully.

QUOTE(mini orchard @ Feb 2 2022, 11:08 AM) What is the cost for each replacement filters ? DYSON - RM299 for replacement filter Not sure about the COWAY one as what I enquired is for a 5year rental contract, fee is RM90/mth including service every 2months plus filter change as required (fine dust filter change every 4mths, HEPA 1year, catalyst+deodorisation every 2yrs)

just air the house but frankly, the formaldehyde lingers for years. it's better to use safe material.

Dyson’s are junk. Airflow is crap, noisy, and the after sales support is nonexistent.
My personal experience and opinion.

Most air quality / formadelhyde sensors have a limited lifespan. I was told Dyson’s one would last lifetime. The noise doesn’t bother me much in fact my wife prefers to have white noise at night.

Hence is looking to invest in a reliable air purifier that is able to effectively reduce formaldehyde levels

basically the air filters use charcoal activated carbon to absorb the formaldehyde. so choose a filter that you can afford to change frequently. https://shopee.com.my/product/287304875/327...39-1643852395.9https://shopee.com.my/product/6604756/36004...39-1643852533.9the center core is the carbon filter Dyson use catalytic converter to remove formaldehyde Cryptomelane or kalium manganese oxide Dyson claims it works but I am skeptical of it. the converter looks like easy to get clogged This post has been edited by fireballs: Feb 3 2022, 09:52 AM

At least I have a peace of mind the air quality is good for my baby. The app is sleek and easily integrate-able into homeassistant. It can be noisy at max speed but it’s still tolerable for me. In fact its overall air quality reading is consistent with xiaomi one that I have in the living room. What I can’t verify is the formadelhyde sensor as my room doesn’t have the smell from furniture to begin with. By the way, I bought a custom filter filled with activated carbon for the xiaomi air purifier in living room. This post has been edited by iamsobloodysick: Feb 3 2022, 11:04 AM

Yeah Xiaomi is the best bang for buck, and filter price is cheap while can be monitored and automated using the app. Coway is a lot more expensive in the long run.

I'm in similar situation now, going to start airing my house after I have installed the safety grills on. May I know eventually which air purifier did you go with?
