Any one have any thoughts on GP?
Been looking around for my first serious purchase, and the Girard Perregaux LAUREATO caught my eye

Compared to the other brands like Rolex, omega and etc seems like GP is one of the less discussed watches.

So looking to see on what are your thoughts on
The model itself - laureato
The watch brand - GP

I like how the face of the watch is very detailed.
Also I'm wondering how is it in the second hand market?

Like Rolex, after buy straight increase in value
Not sure for GP if the value goes up or down generally.

Because if it drops alot, I actually don't mind getting it in the used market place

Yeah, design is good. But I see the Malaysia preowned watch market all full of Rolex or other more vintage/less coveted watches. I almost never came across a nice GP or even a nice omega for that matter.

But maybe the reseller dont like my face lol.

The value usually go down a bit. but still quite expensive i think

Yes very true have not seen a GP in the pre-owned market.
Not sure if it's due to low demand of these watches..
Hopefully for CNY got people buy new watches and sell theirs for cheap haha

GP are not commonly available on pre own as owners who purchase it are real enthusiast of the brand and intend to wear the watch.

great choice buddy! i would definitely go for it! however as previously stated, its kinda on the more expensive side. i would go for Cartier or an omega for my own personal taste.

but since you're in love with the dial and that dial is quite specific to GP (unless u bring in a royal oak). just go for the purchase haha!

One of my previous short listed was the aqua Terra. But GP caught my eye even more. But with the steep price tag there is alot of thinking before making the decision.

I see! With the steep price I could get a Rolex which would be well known by everyone.
But from my understanding Gp would only be recognized by watch enthusiat. Not so much of being well known if I were to wear it out.
Not gonna lie part of the reason for the watch is also for bragging rights.. so might have to think over it for a bit

GP is of great value before this as you can get it with 30% off retail from AD. Even better value if you can find one from pre-own.. but since 1st Jan it has quite a huge price increase and discount is capped at 10% now

Do you mind sharing which store/AD normally give the better discounts?
