I noticed visible black dot (probably bacteria) on dial when I purchase a used Omega Seamaster from a nice guy who may have lost his job after the 1st MCO in 2020. He also informed me that the watch is unable to wind Date anymore.
Despite the flaws I still proceeded to make the transaction and was a happy owner until last week. I was hanging out with a friend who noticed fog/vapor on my watch. I have to admit I freaked out.
It was a miserable pre-CNY week for me as I waited a week long due to work to finally visit an uncle to check on my watch. He quickly inspected and patched my watch within an hour, charged RM50. Thankfully my Seamaster wave dial is now visible without vapor on crystal. However he break the news to me that I have to replace the winding stem with crown as soon as possible because when water gets in again the dial will get more impurities and eventually compromise the movement.
So I checked Omega official website and found out that a quotation of RM2300 is expected. I’m now waiting for Lai, supposedly trustworthy and competent person who can fix watches to return from CNY break.
A peek to my Seamaster 1120 movement.
