QUOTE(Bugeca @ Dec 17 2024, 01:43 AM) Yup, happened to me on 13 Dec. The phone emitted a buzzing noise, then auto restart and boot looped. At one time it went to Download Mode. Plugged in the charger and let it boot looped couple of times before it gave up and shutdown. Now it becomes a paper weight for the time being, not sure whether to keep it that way or send it for a repair. SC quoted 1.7k for the mobo replacement. 2 years and 10 months of ownership. Wow 1.7k, cun cun enough to buy a new realme GT Neo 7 with silicon carbon battery 7000mAh, dimensity 9300+, 12gb 256gb but Chinese ROM only la. |

QUOTE(Bugeca @ Dec 17 2024, 10:31 AM) Hahaha, having the same thought of going that route. But these Chinese ROM feels like something is missing, like the overall refinement etc. Even my wife plan to ditch her Xiaomi for a Samsung. She's not a tech savvy kind of person but still think Samsung have a slightly better in the UX area. Since you're prepared to spend the 1.7k for repairs, why not spend it on a new Fon & new experience, if don't like it just sell it at mudah cheap cheap. |

QUOTE(chongkiatz @ Dec 26 2024, 10:44 AM) if every year change new phone then might be not a problem , but if gonna use for 3-4 year then might be problem My S22U got light sabre not even a year. After that pink line, then OTA update again become bright white screen. The white is so bright untill my eyes cannot see the screen content.QUOTE(miloy2k @ Dec 26 2024, 10:49 AM) Haha. That's a good one. Strangely only iPhone has high resale value. Strange & I dunno why also. But since I prefer Android, I didn't buy any iPhone before in my life miloy2k liked this post

QUOTE(NagaK @ Dec 27 2024, 02:14 PM) That's what I'm plans for either go for mindrange series or go for oppo vivo. Vivo X200 Ultra camera quality is top notch better than Samsung so called ultra or choose pixel for clean android Faster trade in before screen problems happenedI plan to trade in my S22U when the light sabre happened. Since the light sabre only appear in 120hz mode. I thought it's ok to keep using it since it cost me 5000 & the trade in value only around 2000. Suddenly pink line appears then whole screen becomes bright very bright white unusable spoiled. No more chance to trade in by then. Abit regrets NagaK liked this post

QUOTE(contestchris @ Dec 28 2024, 04:44 PM) Sent this email to Samsung Malaysia CEO office. Don't have high hopes, but no harm to try. Why you Thank You ! to Damnsung. Because of their OTA fault our S22U spoiled. Never in my life I will imagine a single OTA can ruined my Fon. Usually it's only heat issues or battery draining only. This Damnsung is next level genius.--------------- Hi there, I am been a Samsung user for multiple generations. Before my current S22 256GB, I had a Galaxy S10e 128GB. Recently, following the update on 16 Dec 2024, my phone display developed a pink line on the left side of the screen. I went to Samsung express service center on 20 Dec 2024. The technician confirmed it is a hardware issue and I needed to replace the screen. However, since my screen is otherwise free of any scratch or damage, I requested for Samsung to bear the cost of the repair. Of late, there are many incidents of people with the same phone as me (S20 / S21 / S22 lines) experiencing some kind of green line or pink link on their display. The technician said they will have to send in a report to Samsung Malaysia to request for the free screen replacement. On 24 Dec 2024, I received a call from Samsung Malaysia that the screen will not be replaced for free. It will be charged RM500++. Today, I went to Samsung Publika to check my S22 trade-in value. The sales executive said that the pink line is considered a screen defect, and as such negatively impacts the trade-in value of my device. I was told that if my screen didn't have this defect, I could get up to RM900 when trade-in. However, with the defect, the trade-in value is only RM225. How is this acceptable? Samsung Malaysia will neither repair the screen, and will also penalize the trade-in value of my device. I was actually thinking of getting the S25 series when it launches next month, but Samsung's customer service is atrocious. A flagship phone should be able to last for many years. Samsung promises 7 years of software upgrades. What's the point, when the phone's screen gets damaged after 2 or 3 years? I appeal to Samsung Malaysia to do something about this. My phone has never been dropped - there is no scratches to the screen and no dents to the body. I've taken good care of the phone, yet the screen has become defective. It is indicative of a manufacturing defect. If Samsung Malaysia does not offer a good solution to this issue, I will escalate the matter to the Malaysian authorities by lodging a complaint with Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri Dan Kos Sara Hidup (KPDN). Thank you! |
