Hi guys, I recently bought a sub sale house and plan to move in for own stay.

So coincidence that my next door which is a corner house sold to someone too. This new owner wanted to do major renovation which include 10+ points of piling and extend the houses all the way. They are in the middle of discussing with engineers and architect for this project and submitting renovation plan to local council soon.

But They are kind enough to inform me that the renovation is planned to start in end of this year and it would take roughly 1.5 years to 2 years. I am home based worker and both my wife and newborn baby would be staying at the house. Since the renovation is superb noisy in the morning so we are forced to find a new place to rent for 2-3 years period  cry.gif

Meaning I would need to pay both my house and rental house which is rather unaffordable for me at the moment cry.gif

Anybody faces this problem before which your neighbour doing major renovation that has unbearable noise for extensive period of 2 years? Any advise from you all?

Thank you very much in advanced.  notworthy.gif

p/s : The house is ~35 years old Double Storey Terrace

If stable job + want to settle down with family + middle aged => its always better to own and self-stay. Who wants to move every x years due to landlord want to take back or found better rental deal. Rented property never really feels like a home to bring up a family. Got nagging feeling.

TLDR different stages of life, bro. Don't overgeneralize.

Overgeneralize?
Generally, general always making worse decision. ( in contrast to top 5% and the bottom 5% of society )

you need saving to make you safe.
you need ownership to make you safe.

Bro, for a small group of people in this society, they already break free from this "general concept" games.

Feel like home?

I am not after a "feeling"
what I want is the best living experience without unnecessary commitment.

I only feel it as a "home" when it fit my preference.
NOT ownership.

indirectly it's like saying, you can only afford 1 house, and there will always be a risk of owning just 1 property. i have met a few peoples saying the same thing like you, technically they are not performing well in term of career and financially hence they decided to go hippy style to make them self feel good.

like i said

people owning property as a illustration of their financial status

which is really meaningless

got money then need pump into property??

hahhaha....

thats really lack of confidence and low self esteem
quite a kuda attensi.

u just buy property as a symbol..

buying a property is not about financial status, indirectly yes but not entirely. Buying property is part of future planning, future financial growth and income. can foresee from your statement and thoughts, you are doing very badly in life.

wow...

another, you don't buy property = you are doing very badly in your life.....

you have your points and they are valid to up to certain points.

but its not for everyone and up to an individual lifestyle.

from your comment i think you mostly had bad neighbours experience.....
been there before and i dun blame you.

neighbour is a small factor.
Better property, better township is a bigger factor.

plus I really dont like the idea of investing real estate.
