The funds are still given to TAR but under independent group if not mistaken.
Previously DAP refuse to direct bank in the money into TAR account due to concern of money misuse for personal gain as most TAR management is still MCA people. Is like giving free bullets to your enemy.

didn't quite a few DAP people were educated in TAR? So why TAR give free bullets to DAP is ok?

Incorrect.

BN including MCA is harsher more punitive on Chinese than PH.

So why BN under Najib abolish the mandatory Bumi shares? And PH supporting the Tun's 51% shares?

My 2 sen on a rainy day.
1) Reformasi led by DSAI was popular between 1998 - 2000. It was not relevant to voters below 30 y/o in 2018. Main reason for PH win was DrM & PPBM ability to win some Malay votes from BN.
2) New voters in next election will remember the collapse of PH in 2020 very well. PH ended up as the loser and looked like beta cucks compared to BN.
3) PH is irrelevant in Sabah & Sarawak. Local BN friendly warlords prefer to run on local issues which PH reps are clueless about.
4) The "Political power for Malay & Chinese can only have the economic power" are still the dominant mindset among Malay voters esp in rural seats.
5) Some voters just hate DSAI.
6) People like free money. BN can make it rain and cut budget elsewhere diam-diam. PH talk about savings and collect donation from public.
7) BN reps can be funny online while PH reps are too serious all the time.

bullets - funds
MCA - Very high chance will miss manage the funds for political gain/reason
Independent group - Money still reach TAR but thru Taruc trust fund

https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/guan...aruc-trust-fund

The trust fund board comprises members of TAA, a student representative and an official of the ministry of finance. TAA is made up of former Taruc students and includes professionals and business owners.

He said TAA believes in running Taruc as an educational institution that is independent from political parties and politicians.

https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/503094

"the government had decided to channel the funding to a new educational foundation without a political background to avoid any political interference in deciding on the distribution of the funds."

So do you think which 1 is more fair to the students for a independent group without any political interference or MCA management to manage the funds?

51% was supported by DAP. If not, dap could have abolished it when they were the government

30% confirmed abolished by najib

Mahathir is yesterday's news to us. No longer relevant.

Currently 51% is today's main issue.

Is your BN so incompetent until, 19 years later, still have to blame Mahathir?
