After much consideration, i'm thinking of getting series S.
Mainly because i dont play that much and want to introduce my 5yr old daughtef to family friendly gaming.

Need help from cikgu2 here on :

1. Best place to get it
2. Which region to set.
3. Is this the bestbdecision or should i go with X instead

Not looking at series X much as i am expecting game time of not more than 10 hrs weekly.

Appreciate if any cikgu here can point me to the right direction.
Tried PS5,but eels like giving MS a chance.
My last console was PS 2 waaay back.

Wat is ur tv to play on? I think series s can get 2nd hand cheap at fb marketplace can save u some bucks. It’s portable but if me, i just go straight X la, to enjoy the 4k reso and better framerate at heavier game. Depends on ur priorities, series s is still a good compromise of being value and u get to play all current and upcoming games no sweat

controller is still a bit too big for a 5 years old

if wanna introduce family friendly gaming to young kids, Nintendo Switch is da King
more family friendly games for her to enjoy, got games for older daddy also
smaller controller that fits into her tiny hands, play on the go, easier to buy and best of all, no scalper price.

Reasons to get Series S:

You don't mind / don't have the means to display at 4K resolution
You will be primarily using it for Gamepass and digital games
Cheaper pricing / better availability

Reasons to get Series X:

You want your games to look at its possible best, with 4K resolution and support for ray tracing
You still use / prefer discs. Also, you can play 4K Ultra Blurays too
The built in SSD is bigger in size (1Tb vs 512GB on Series S)

As for your other questions:

1. I would advise to get it from trusted sellers like Impulse, since they will be able to help with warranty.
2. I like using US account, since there are some differences in title availability by region. That was in the Xbox 360 days though. The currency that you will be using also depends on which region you use
3. Personally I prefer using Series X, because I still have a lot of physical discs from the OG Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. But if you have no intention to buy physical discs, and don't really mind a drop in performance / visual quality, a Series S is a very good purchase, since it can run the same games as Series X.

Awesome advice buddy.
Really appreciate it.
4k upscale is enough for me.
Not gonna do serious gaming.
Tempted with Switch, however Nintendo and its limited titles at times does affect my decision.

Good point on the physical disc. Something that may need to be put in consideration as i can see some selling used games here and there, does help to minimize the cost of owning the games too.

Selling used xbox games to minimize cost doest really work here, most of us goes digital.

You can almost say for xbox players, those who could afford Series-X would most likely buy new/deluxe edition rather than used.

I use the official Xbox rechargeable battery. Can just connect the controller to the Xbox while playing. But quite a few of us here use rechargeable batteries like Eneloop. Beats having an internal battery that can't be easily replaced if it dies.

No idea.
But for series S,unless u buy the official Seagate extension, all other drive are meant to store copy of the game only.
When you want to play, youust transfer it back into the internal SSD.

Capture location is Screen capture or video recording location. Is the share button in the middle.

For Series S/X games they can only play at Internal Storage, for games from 360-XB1 they can play directly on External HDD, including some newer indie games. (You can tell by looking at the icon of the game if it shows S/X)

But then i would suggest finishing 1 of the big games, so you could uninstall for more space, or move them to external HDD if you wont be playing them anytime soon

Bought Series S and been using for one week. Bought gamepass ultimate from one of shopee seller. Most of the game i played is from previous gen console such as 360 and Xbox One so i directly install and play though external hard disk. The only game installed on internal drive is Forza Horizon 5. Never regret buying it coz i am just a casual console gamer, mainly game on PC.

currently i'm using PC Gamepass on my Series S. I counted before.. almost 200 games can be play on Xbox by using PC game pass subscription.
Xbox 360 games, EA Play, Live Gold doesn't work. Most of the time my kids using Xbox to play Roblox and i play games on PC. Now got 3 month for RM5 still good deal la
