Why cant they follow what Indonesia or Singapore do. This RFID sticker really a pain in the buntut. I went to few centre before successfully pasang.

1. Windsreen tak boleh because tinting and also due to continental car windscreen ada metal.
2. Headlamp tak boleh because you have headlamp protector sticker installed.

I was then HUH??? If this is the case, if one fine day all toll pakai RFID, I kantoi lar. They then suggest me to tear out my headlamp protector before they pasang. I refuse. After visiting few centre, finally manage to get it fix on my headlamp.

Moral of the story, our RFID implementation FAILED due to sub par technology used.

Never knew windscreen can have metal content. Went ahead and read up.

Thanks for the info.

I also dont know. First time hearing it. Anyway, after pasang the damn sticker on my headlamp, going through RFID toll sometimes successful, sometimes not. I revert back to smart tag liao. I dont want to be the cause of traffic jam. Malu.

Smartag seems superior in this case if it can work through your windscreen with metal content.

1. Metallized windshields interfere with RF signals and are increasingly common. (Weird that why stick on headlights will have less metalized?)
2. Windshields significantly vary in height and angle. An angle that works for a standard sedan may fail on a higher SUV with a more vertical facing windshield. (This is what I experienced, SUV may or may not work on the windshield)

I've done this as well for both my cars, tested 2 areas on the windscreen (inside):
1. lower left (right above road tax)
2. upper left (roughly behind the sunshade)

Both placements had no difference and work 100% of the time on a daily basis...one hatchback and one sedan with different brand of tint films - fairly similar windscreen angle.

This is on a conti car with acoustic glass and tinting - so no idea why the guys at the installation centre would tell people conti cars with metalised windscreen won't work if you stick it on the inside.

And you can place anywhere in on the right side of your dashboard
The rfid required such close precession placement making it seriously unsuitable for mass rollout and high speeds

i put mine on headlamp, pass 3 diff tol, all failed ....
go center they said, headlamp best place; they tested and say all ok. went to tol again. fail again
*
How fast you go when you approach the RFID lane?
Mine on headlamp used for 2 years never failed also?

I approached <20km/h. 99% success rate.

The 1% failure rate is because sometimes i forgot to topup ewallet LOL

Mine I stuck inside using the road tax film after suggested by one /k. In the center part above the mirror on the dotted section where the tint usually don't cover. Also slightly left towards the passenger side and at least 5cm away from the roof.

Stick inside using roadtax sticker definitely works as long as it is 5cm away from metal.

If tinted maybe different story.

I stick it top left, 5+ cm away from top and left column.

So far works 100%. Myvi first gen not tinted.

There was a tictok video of some dude sticking it behind car plate and it also works.
