OUM and WOU reputation for MBA not so good

UM MBA is quite tough because all subjects are exam based.

There r good ones like Strathclyde, Nottingham and Manchester MBA. Heard about Monash one, but I am not sure how good it is.

not sure if 50k budget can cover or not.

More better ones are in Singapore, world class like INSEAD.

at end of day ask yourself, what is MBA for ? I don't really think it would help u get a promotion unless u r working for those consulting firms like Mckinsey.

I notice most students in MBA, are already high level executives GM and up. Some of them are even business owners.
They are objective is to gain knowledge, new skills sets to handle in their role, understand other functions in an organization and enhance their networking with other MBA classmates.

Msia must be really brain drain, can't even attract lancaster and manchester.

I knew a few business owners that signed up and graduated for the manchester one.

90k ? can't recall was years ago. Lecturers only came twice a year, intensive 2 or 3 weeks, then rest you are on ur own.

strathclyde is ok lah.

they have above average trainers. every 1/2 year lecturers from scotland come down to teach intensive for 2-3 weeks.

when it started was cheap...around 20k something. Books provided are really good. They have in house text books.

When I was shopping around for MBA programs I did look into that Strathclyde program, it is a very well established program and a very good one too as it is a triple accredited program. The other ones I looked at were Nottingham uni and Sunway-Lancaster program.

None of it were 100% perfect in every way as all had some downsides to them. Academics wise the Strathclyde program is far more challenging and interesting. Facilities wise Sunway had the best of everything but candidates for the MBA were not too interesting as too many young cikus who were basically either a nobody or some big shots' brat. Nottingham did not have the best of anything but it delivered the one thing I looked for which was an internationally focused (by that I mean not just from India and Philippines) candidates and faculty that were somewhere on the rise in their careers.

I read mine at Nottingham, 8 modules in KL, 2 in Nottingham, UK and 2 in Ningbo, China. In fact I started my first 2 modules in Ningbo and ended it with 2 modules in Nottingham. I would say it delivered good value for money, above average academic quality and had the chance to meet as well as get to know several persons of importance, there were 2 GLC heads, several top management persons from developers, some persons with strong ties to the armed forces and some investment bankers. It was not the projects we did that mattered but more the after class drinks which brought the most of the benefits.

Ultimately having the MBA was just one part of it, what you do with your time there and how you use the connections you build from there would be the ultimate prize.
