where does iPhoto keep my photos? i can't find them unless i open iPhoto.
i'm trying out adobe lightroom. all my photos are in iPhoto, when i want to import them into lightroom, i can't seem to access the iPhoto library.
am i doing anything wrong? i cant access my photos unless i open iPhoto.

That's what iPhoto does, it copies photos imported into your "user/pictures/iPhoto Library" folder and organizes them there. It also keeps the original untouched and make a copy of whatever you modify. It's quite difficult to find your photos in there unless you add comments or tags to the photos and search through Spotlight.
You do have a choice however, in iPhoto Preferences - Advanced, you can check or uncheck the Importing part.
If you decide to leave it with it is, you can always open iPhoto just like opening any Finder folders and drag whatever photo you want onto whichever application you want to use them with.

I have a similar issue with trashley. I explored around and ended with this:
Open up Automator, drag the action "Ask for Photos", make sure the "allow multiple selection" is checked, save it as an app.
It's much faster to browse through photos as it opens up faster as well as loading all photos.
Well, that's how i do it though. Anyone else got a better idea? Please share.
