Good Day All,

This is my first post and this is the current situation:

House condition - New (direct from developer)
Problem - The floor for the balcony was made in such a way that it wasn't levelled properly. So, what happened was, whenever it rains, water will be ponding. Reported to the Developer, after almost 1 month waiting, they agreed to fix it. Went to the house yesterday, and found out that they have already hacked the old tiles. When I asked whether a new layer of waterproofing will be added, they said NO. I disagreed as I have already got a serious leak coming from the roof, and I am not prepared to have the same problem coming from the balcony later on.

Therefore, I would like to ask to the knowledgeable ones, is that true that there is no need to put a new layer of waterproofing just because the old one is still there? As they have been drilling the floor in order to hack the old tiles, isn't the old waterproofing has been compromised?

Thank you so much for your time in reading this and thank you in advance for your reply.

They have to put the new waterproofing again. Develops will try their best to bully buyers, don't fall into their trap.

Developers normally dont do more than what is required if there is no sign of leaking. You may disagreed, but they will tell you to call them if there is a leak.

My current place also ponding issue at the patio. Took 3 different contractors to rectified it ..... the last person dug up the entire patio.
