I checked the backend Apache logs on both niobe and solurix for 500s but didn't find anything.

Ok, I will try to upload a screenshot later when it happens again.

Added on September 20, 2007, 10:09 amWhen I tried today, it has stopped happening but please leave this topic open for the day and if it happens again in the evening, I will put up a screenie.

Thank you.

Added on September 20, 2007, 10:19 amOk, I managed to reproduce the error today when I was quoting other's post to reply.

Then I took a screenie and tried to upload, I got another error.

I browse for the screenie on my Desktop
I click on Add Attachment
At the bottom left of IE6, it shows DONE with an exclaimation mark.
When I double click on the excliamation mark, this is the error message I received:

"Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being disaplyed properly or functioning properly. In the future, you can display this message by double-clicking the warning icon displayed in the stattus bar."

I clicked on Show Details and it says this:

Line: 193
Char: 3
Error. 'document.REPLIER.tag.value is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php

Added on September 20, 2007, 10:19 amI could not upload the screenie.

I face the exact same problem as well. Firefox can't load the page but IE6 can. I can browse the site but if I select the ADDREPLY button, the Error 500 appears. If I use quick reply / fast reply, no problem.

I've turned on logging since this afternoon. I'll let you guys know if I find anything interesting.

What I know so far is that 500s are not being generated from our side. But Mavik's screenshots show a different problem, which I'll investigate.

After much testing, it seems that it's a problem between the interaction of mod_php and Apache 2.0's mod_deflate. I haven't resolved the problem, but in the worst case I'll remove mod_deflate and compress output in some other way.
