Tried the Remote Play feature via PS3, to turn on and off the PS3 remotely via the net, looks like it requires two logins into Remote Play before you can do anything within the dashboard. First Remote Play login to turn the PS3 on, and the second login to get the display onto your PSP. Got a timeout notice too after the first login, maybe the connection is slow here.
This is useful when you're out at work or not at home, and a demo is being added on PSN, and you need to initiate a download ASAP so that the demo is ready for play once you get home. Turning the PS3 off with the PSP via Remote Play also results in a timeout notice, but the PS3 got turned off anyway. |

Both of my PS3s are updated now. The Japanese and the American PS3s are showing the Noticeboard info as per their regions appropriately. With the Japanese PS3 showing in Japanese text, while the American PS3 i have here, is showing related news for US, Canadian English and Canadian French for Quebec area.

Instantaneous on mine. No hiccups even on wireless Remote Play. I left my PS3 on PSP Remote Play now, got chores to do around the house, so i could leave my PSP hanging around my belt while i do my work, while occasionally checking on Playstation Store. Waiting for 6PM EST, for the Uncharted demo.

QUOTE(Muchi @ Nov 9 2007, 08:20 PM) I have a question. Has anyone in Malaysia right now, that tried to download from the US PSN using their current credit card? There is one way, if you can get hold of an American version of the current locally available AMBank NextG prepaid card. I cant recall what brand it is, but it is available. All you need is a bank that supports topping up to this prepaid credit card, and an American address, but as long as you keep topping up the amount, the account/issuing bank wont bother you with details. It's buried within the threads in NeoGAF, have to dig it up if you really want to find out.Did it work or fail? ------------------------------------ Edit: Forget the question. Found the answer on the post by rx at the PlayStation 3 Comm. V2 thread. I managed to top up USD150 into my US PSN account before they closed the loophole. |

Muchi, you must have got me wrong, i didnt mean the American verson of the NextG card, there is only the localised version here. What i mean was a debit card version in America, which comes in the form of a Visa Gift card. For Europeans who need access to purchase US PSN contents, they go for the Wirecard. Try googling on both. Both have been reported to work.
As for me, i have topped up USD150 long time ago when the loophole still exists. Up till now, i still have about USD90 on my US acccount, so im in no immediate hurry to investigate other means of topping up. Nice to know the AmBank route still works, i may have to resort to that to get my US PSN stuff once the funds get depleted from my account. For my UK PSN ( yup, certain contents like PS Eye games are available in UK only at the moment), im using Wirecard. Either way, i could just get my better half in LA to use her US CC to top up the funds, as she have been sharing the downloads with me, using the "5 PS3 can share one purchase" method. So you see why im in no hurry to get it topped up. |
