Well that is your PS3. How many people have reported that their PS3 is screwed?
Saying that the warranty means nothing, why did you still bought a PS3 and risk it? Before buying from Low Yat, Sg. Wang or anywhere, you should have known that PS3 was not launched officially in Malaysia and that means you don't get any official warranty. So it's a risk you are taking on your own from the very beginning regardless of whether the shop in Malaysia offers you warranty or not.

And what I meant by 10 years is, PS3 might be around for 10 years until PS4 comes out.

  I found the way to create folder to organize your videos.

Go to Video and press 'Triangle' on any of your videos, and select 'Information'.

Here you will see 'Album' field can be enter. So, just put for example 'Movie Trailer' or 'Game Trailer'. Then, your videos will be sorted and listed in their respective folders.



EDIT: You can do the same steps for Photos and Games as well. Don't forget to press 'Square' to toggle the group content (By Month, By Year or By Album). So, just toggle to 'By Album' to organize your files in folders.

Muchi, you must have got me wrong, i didnt mean the American verson of the NextG card, there is only the localised version here. What i mean was a debit card version in America, which comes in the form of a Visa Gift card. For Europeans who need access to purchase US PSN contents, they go for the Wirecard. Try googling on both. Both have been reported to work.

As for me, i have topped up USD150 long time ago when the loophole still exists. Up till now, i still have about USD90 on my US acccount, so im in no immediate hurry to investigate other means of topping up. Nice to know the AmBank route still works, i may have to resort to that to get my US PSN stuff once the funds get depleted from my account. For my UK PSN ( yup, certain contents like PS Eye games are available in UK only at the moment), im using Wirecard.

Either way, i could just get my better half in LA to use her US CC to top up the funds, as she have been sharing the downloads with me, using the "5 PS3 can share one purchase" method. So you see why im in no hurry to get it topped up.

Yeah, no more conversion needed. Just direct playback.

Question BTW, I register my first PSN account using a AUS address, would that cause the problem? I registered a 2nd address using a Singapore region, but no luck getting it back to NTSC. I wonder what is actually wrong

@skyracer, i think the "can't read disc" problem is hardware failure/defect.

Anyway good practices include place ps3 at properly ventilated area, make sure the vents have space to "breathe", cover the ps3 with some cloth/towel when not in use. Don't off the ps3 suddenly if its very hot after hours of gaming/folding, let it cool down a few minutes 1st. Try not to leave any disc inside the ps3 when u off or move the ps3 around.

And lastly, pray the ps3 is free of hardware defects and give u many hours of fun and enjoyment

my dad won it from a golf tournament

so i was just there when he gave it to me

and to be fair

i got my ds because i excelled in my exam

and i saved my money for 3 or 4 months to get one ds game

eventhough we change like 3 lenses already..the ps3 seems did not moved from it current state...

wut i do noted while opening and toying wif those unlucky ps3's ...if compared HK PS3 (my ps3 if not mistaken more like first batches PS3) and the new SG PS3...at the back of the bdrom mobo...they added a new...i might say a HEATSINK...where my old HK PS3 got no such thing...only plain thermal thingy..like tape..the dedicated IC is damn hot if u touch it when operating..and if u did not contact the IC wif PS3 main heatsink...the ps3 will hang...i suspect the ic too had to do wif this prob (mine prob only).

it seems that nowadays ps3 lens prob got lot of owner encounter...my advice is..do take care ur ps3 carefully...and if u have money to spend...buy an aditional fan to cool off ur baby..hope it wont encounter any PS3 ROD (overheating prob...ive encounter the prob b4..and sumhow i managed to find the solution  )

I think marathon thingy is not a problem, i also played resistance with my fren for half day near 10-12 hours but we were in an aircond room since we ourselves cant resist the heat ourselves!
