A new PS3 owner here.
BTW I got the spore 80GB version.
For some reason, when i select output mode, it is showing as PAL.
Any ideas why? It should be NTSC right?

The Serial Number matches CECHE (80GB,NTSC)
and 06 - Singapore Now this is plain weird. EDIT - Anyone has a HK/SGD version but the display stucked on PAL? LOL. Question BTW, I register my first PSN account using a AUS address, would that cause the problem? I registered a 2nd address using a Singapore region, but no luck getting it back to NTSC. I wonder what is actually wrong This post has been edited by Haruji Sora: Nov 15 2007, 01:28 AM |

LOL guess I am stucked then, cause I am outputting the ps3 using component to my Dell 2407WFP
As far as i can see, no option is available to set it to PAL mode. EDIT - I am having pretty much trouble trying to sign in to PSN, is there any ports I need to set on my router to enable better connection? Thanks. This post has been edited by Haruji Sora: Nov 15 2007, 04:32 AM |

Pity my 2407WFP doesnt have a HDMI input, I can of course, use a HDMI -> Dvi Convertor, but then it is going to a blerdy hassle to take out the DVI of my PC and swap it with my PS3 all the time.
No budget to get a HD TV / LCD yet... sadly... EDIT - Since I am very very new to PS3, I have tonnes of questions to ask. 1 - Anyway to copy out the demo and videos I downloaded from PSN to another PS3 or to computer (the video can probably play in the PC)? 2 - Anyway to arrange the video I downloaded? Like I download GT5 Videos from PSN earlier, and it was added to my Video section by sequence I download, not by arranging with the file name (just like the PSP, but PSP can arrange with some homebrew) Any ideas? 3 - How do you setup a media server for photo, video and etc? Thanks. More questions will come, entertain this noobie to the PS3 scene This post has been edited by Haruji Sora: Nov 15 2007, 06:43 AM |

QUOTE(acougan @ Nov 15 2007, 03:25 PM) ^ is your PS3 still outputting a PAL signal? actually, i saw your Q's but i din't know the answers. but i think a FAT32 external HDD can be recognized by the ps3. let wait more ppl who know more to answer LOL yeah it is. Maybe it is due to me 2407WFP, or that Y Pb Pr switcher I using for the component cables. I dunno, one day I plan to take my console out and hook it on normal Composite to my aging TV at the Living Hall, then I see if it is stucked on PAL or not. |

Well my 7 year old PS2 is quite dusty, but only on some parts of the grill. That picture is mad, and it is only 1 year old? LOL.

It still outputting at 576i (which is PAL), my machine is NTSC/J (Singapore). Wonder is it possible to switch the output to NTSC or not... somehow I can't. Oh well... who cares. Put back to my Dell 24 incher and stick to 1080i la |

Depending on your internet speed. How fast you can download the update is how long it will take + installation time.
Installation of new firmware should take less than 5 minutes (maybe lesser). This post has been edited by Haruji Sora: Nov 18 2007, 09:21 PM |

There is already a convertor available, I dunno if it enables rumble using DS2 though.
