I somehow forgot that my 24" Dell had a card reader n usb hub built in, so i just connect the usb cable to the PS3 and try inserting a thumbdrive to the usb hub. It detects no probs. Next i try inserting a memory stick into the card reader and it too had no problems detecting. This is when i tried with a memory stick in the card reader.

Singapore (like 3 or 4 console effected) 2. HK (1 console) Erm... u should change the lens part not the whole BDROM drive as the drive is tied to the console serial id. So u can't just swap the drive from another PS3.
