eh? ban? i figured it was a 3-day suspension or something.
rgd membership stuff, can open a thread here http://forum.lowyat.net/MainSiteForumFeedbackandHelpdesk to discuss with forum admin @TheUndead, no need embarassed to ask questions. check out the FAQ thread, making additional PSN account PSNID quite easy, takes a few minutes. QUOTE(TheUndead @ Nov 21 2007, 04:21 PM) I'm so embarrassed to ask this but I really need to know how. How do I create multiple PSN IDs like I see you guys manage to do? (US acct, SG acct, UK acct) So far, I only manage to register myself a US acct. I tried finding it but no luck. and also, my "Manage Sub Accounts" is greyed out. Could this be the problem? Help please? Thanks! QUOTE(kuya @ Nov 21 2007, 04:24 PM) FAQ thread got or not this question? then acougen need to pin this one as well.... me oso dunno, only got 1 PSN id onli. Aiyark! I totally forgot to check the n00b FAQs. LOL I think I might have found the answer. First, create a new user account for your PS3. Then register another PSN ID (country of your choice US/SG/UK) I thought one PS3 account can have many PSN IDs at the same time hehe |

bout the ps3 lens prob...ive got mine and after several try and error..it seems that my first ps3 cannot be revived....i already changed the lens and hell...go to one console repairer shop and we both try to solve the
issue...but to no avail.... we've changed like 3 console lens and use my bdrom to another working ps3...it seems the lens did not read a thing even wif the working ps3...and to my surprise..the working bdrom did not even work on my ps3 !!!!!easy to say that my bdrom n the ps3 r the culprit. so the theory bout the locking thingy is somewhat...kinda true... wut i do remember bout those illegal media i have in my ps3 b4: 1. Pirated DVD 2. Pirated PS2 DVD 3. Pirated PS1 CDROM so to those who juz bought their precious ps3...never ever let ur shiny ps3 eat all listed media above...coz who knows...ur ps3 will ended up like mine... right now im enjoying my new PS3 Singapore version and will never ever let any those media into it again...ever!!! *wut ive seen at the shop..most of the console that catch that COLD: 1. Singapore (like 3 or 4 console effected) 2. HK (1 console) |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Erm... u should change the lens part not the whole BDROM drive as the drive is tied to the console serial id. So u can't just swap the drive from another PS3. |

i am not saying that the heat will contributed to the ps3 lens dead but most probably it will lead the machine hanging while try reading any media.
ya..i too had played my ps3 in long hours...17 hours non stop...after updating...the lens reading capabilities deteriorate...last time i try at air conditioned place...sumhow the reading capabilities is great...but back to my place...its useless... |

PS3 lens is causing so many problems! I remember i did place a Pirated DVD into my PS3 before and that was when the PS3 first came out with the 1.80 or was it 1.82 with the DVD upscale function! That is the one and onli time i did so! After that i place in a DVD-R with pirated PS2 contents but nothing happen!
So now after looking on the points above! Let try to conclude something! 1. Lens malfunction due to firmware 2. Lens spoil due to pirated stuff 3. Continuous play for long hour under hot or warm environment, read disc start to make noise! any other points? |

For my experience, don't play your PS3 under hot or warm environment~!! One or Two Hours is fine, don't keep pushing the PS3~! My classic example, my brother was trying to marathon my PS3 for hours playing Gundam Musou in a very hot room without fan
I believe hot environment cause the lens to malfunction somehow. |

like wat Arc_archieve mention earlier! the sony has install a heatsink on the BD-ROM........ so does that mean the heat is a major problem on the BD-ROM.
And even with a heat sink it is not enough since some ppl play it in a very warm room! The BD still malfunction after certain period of time! |
